FoH is a volunteer org working in cooperation with park management and the Friends of CT State parks.

Our mission is to provide environmental education, preserve the integrity of the park’s natural resources, and serve as an advocate for the park.

𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭-𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐀𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞! Connecticut State Parks is looking for two part-time staff members to help open and close shoreline park facilities during the off-season.

Each position is 18 hours per week, with responsibilities including closing Hammonasset Beach, Rocky Neck, and Harkness Memorial State Parks daily, and opening all three parks on weekends and holidays.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out for Coastal Cleanup Day! 💙 We had an amazing group of 65 volunteers, including 13 students from a local school, who rolled up their sleeves and helped clean our shoreline.

Together, they collected more than 100 pounds of trash, everything from cigarette butts to broken cinder blocks and even a buoy!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and helped make a difference. Every piece picked up helps keep our beaches cleaner and safer for people and wildlife. 🐚🌊

Calling all beach-loving pups! Starting today, dogs are welcome back for walks on the beach through April 30! Dogs are also welcome in the campground from October 13 through April 30.

Grab the leash and get ready for some sandy paws and beautiful fall walks by the water! 🐾 Mutt Mitt dog waste bag stations are available throughout the park, making it easy to help keep Hammonasset beautiful for everyone.

Join the Friends of Hammonasset, Meigs Point Nature Center, and Save the Sound for the International Coastal Cleanup this Saturday.

Spend the morning making a difference for our shoreline and the wildlife of Long Island Sound. Come on your own, bring the family, or gather a group. All volunteers are welcome! Meet at the Meigs Point Nature Center at 10am. All cleaning supplies will be provided.
