Clinton Human Services To maximize the quality of life in our community by providing intervention and prevention programs for Clinton youth and families.

The Clinton Youth & Family Service Bureau was started in 1987 through the dedicated volunteer efforts of town Clinton youth and family services building residents and key school personnel. The initial town funding for the Bureau began in 1989, allowing for the hiring of a part-time coordinator. Today the Bureau’s staff consists of a full-time Director, Clinician, Program Coordinator, Prevention Sp

ecialist and a part-time Office Administrator. The majority of the Bureau’s funding comes from the town. Town funding, combined with state and federal grants, have allowed for the Bureau’s expansion of programming and staff. Partial funding is also provided by the State Department of Education and the Office of Policy and Management.

📱Keeping Kids Safe in a World of Viral Challenge📱

Social media is a big part of how young people connect, learn, and have fun. While many online trends are harmless, some viral challenges can lead to serious injuries, property damage, legal consequences, or even death.

Challenges such as the Chromebook Challenge, Door-Kicking Challenge, Benadryl Challenge, and other risky stunts have caused real harm across the country. Children and teens are naturally curious and may not always recognize the dangers behind content that appears exciting, funny, or popular online.

One of the best ways to protect children is through open, ongoing conversations. Ask what they’re seeing online, discuss how to recognize risky content, and help them think through the real-life consequences of participating in dangerous trends.

To help support families, CHS is offering FREE prevention and safety resources, including:

-Medication lock boxes
-Small Deterra medication disposal bags
-Large Deterra medication disposal bags
-Elementary Age Parent Handbook (English/ Spanish Available)
-Middle/High School Age Parent Handbook (English/ Spanish Available)

These parent handbooks include:
-Images and descriptions of popular apps
-Information on what apps are used for
-Pictures of different va**ng devices and products
-Suggestions for family media contracts and phone-use expectations
-Tips for online safety, communication, and prevention
-And much more!
