What a terrific evening it was last night at our annual year-end dinner and meeting! We had a great turnout and a good time was had by all. Our new slate of officers for 2026-2068 was installed, and we presented this year's Past President's Award as well as a number of years-of-service awards. Thank you to all of the club members who worked hard to put this together, and thanks also to the lovely staff at Cafe Allegre.

We recently presented a check for $3,000 to the MCS Paulina Baldwin Food Pantry in Madison. The funds were raised via our Cash Only Food Drive which was a great success. We are so grateful to friends, family and community members who generously gave to this fundraising drive. The funds were utilized by the food pantry to replenish their freezer. The Food Pantry provides essential groceries to Madison residents, offering fresh produce, non-perishable items, and personal care products. Funded entirely through donations, the pantry is an all-volunteer organization, ensuring that every donation goes directly toward helping our neighbors. Currently, the pantry serves approximately 110 families per month. Pictured L-R: Mary Hake, director of the pantry; Donna Dougherty, WCM member and pantry volunteer; Melody Wirgau, WCM Vice President.

We are SO proud of our members! At the General Federation of Women's Clubs of Connecticut state convention this past weekend, we came home with several prestigious awards acknowledging the great work we have done over the past year:

PLUMMERS GAVEL. Since 1968, this gavel has been awarded to the club with outstanding and continuous membership activity as reported to GFWC/CT. The WCM continues to grow and maintain its membership by becoming ingrained in the community. By attending multiple public events and being active throughout the community, they are “at one” with their town.

1ST PLACE LARGE CLUB: WOMEN’S HISTORY AND RESOURCE CENTER. Community Awareness of the history of WCM and Civic Contributions from Feb. 1900 through 2025. The Club’s 125 years of service were researched throughout the year. One member spend many hours going through archives held by two town organizations. She then documented all data and produced exhibit boards depicting the 125 years of community service to Madison. The boards were placed on exhibit at the town library and a community event was held. Many town leaders, club members and town residents attended.

1ST PLACE LARGE CLUB: FUNDRAISING. The Club held a fundraising fashion show featuring five local clothing stores. Refreshments were served, six raffle baskets were donated and a local newscaster was emcee. 100 tickets were sold and the event was attended by many community members.

1ST PLACE LARGE CLUB: LEGISLATIVE AND PUBLIC POLICY CLUB. Club members are signed up for Legislative Action Alerts. These interactions with the government officials have shown that our voices are heard. The GFWC National News and Notes recently reported yet another milestone law being passed to help victims of crime, and that newsletter is shared with all club members
