“Talk Back to the Constitution” Poetry Contest
This poetry contest is Michigan Writers’ literary celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States. We will accept poems of no more than 40 lines that talk back to the Constitution through rants, raves, praise, commentary, and concerns.
Submissions will be accepted through July 4. Ten finalists will be chosen, with prizes awarded for first, second, and third place. Winners will be invited to read their poems at the July Michigan Writers General Meeting, and winning entries will be published in the fall edition of the Dunes Review. One entry per participant. Open to members of Michigan Writers.
Our finals judge is Phillip Sterling, renowned poet and fiction writer, whose work has appeared in The Paris Review, Kenyon Review, The Georgia Review, Western Humanities Review, and The Writer’s Chronicle.
