Shoutout to Isabelle Brower from LHS! Isabelle is heading to Kendall College of Art and Design this fall to major in Interior Design and is currently enrolled in the Ferris Honors College. ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ

Along with her goals of participating in a tennis program and student government, she hopes to eventually establish herself at an interior design firm in downtown Grand Rapids, creating spaces that are both beautifully creative and practical for those who need them.

Reflecting on her experience with YAC, Isabelle shared:

"I am so grateful that I got the opportunity to be a part of the YAC. I love how close our council is, and that we have the environment where we can share ideas with each other and give our honest opinions without feeling judged. I can't wait to watch our community continue to grow, and I am excited for those who are lucky enough to be a part of the YAC. "

We wish you the absolute best of luck at KCAD, Isabelle! ๐ŸŒŸ

Letโ€™s give a big hand to Luke Kwietniewski, a recent graduate from LHS! Luke is packing his bags this fall for Kalamazoo College, where he hopes to major in a math or science-related field.

On top of his academic goals, Luke plans to join both the Kalamazoo College Jazz Band and the Kalamazoo Philharmonia! ๐ŸŽบ๐ŸŽป

Reflecting on the unique power of youth philanthropy during his time with YAC, Luke shared:

"Seeing grantmaking directly impact my peers and community is powerful because it shows how young people are just as capable of supporting their community, and in some cases, can do so in ways adults canโ€™t."

We are incredibly proud of you, Luke. We know you'll hit all the right notes in Kalamazoo!

Our first event is Gus Macker on June 20 and 21, and we can't do this without volunteers. Rotarians are asked to sign up for at least 1 shift in order for Macker to be as profitable as possible. If you can't do a shift, we welcome your family members and friends to pitch in.

There are many 2-hour shifts throughout the days. So, if the 3-hour shifts are too much for you, these 2-hour shifts should work!

We are starting the "set up" times earlier so if you have someone playing in Macker, you can work this early shift and be done in time for games. We also scheduled "shut down" shifts at the end of the day so if you have something else going on earlier in the day, you can help close down the trailer.

Click the link below to pick your perfect spot and sign up today. We need your help! We need every Rotarian to work 1 shift at Macker.
