The vision of the Lubbock Area Lights Chapter of the American Business Women's Association is to deve

ABWA - Lubbock Area Lights is an association of professional women dedicated to the betterment of themselves and others through education and inspiration. We meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Lubbock Women's Club (2020 Broadway). ABWA Lubbock Area Lights is a place where women can connect, learn, grow and serve our community. Membership is open to anyone who supports the ABWA mission.

Women’s History Month at ABWA — and our members showed up in ICONIC style!

Tuesday night we celebrated the women who inspire us, and a few of our members took it to the next level by dressing as their favorite Woman Icon.

✨ Ruth honored her husband’s grandmother — a woman whose strength, legacy, and quiet influence shaped generations. A beautiful tribute to the women who built the foundations we stand on.

✨ Donna Rose came as… herself. Because when you’ve walked through trials, grown through challenges, and kept showing up with grace and grit, you become your own icon. And honestly? We couldn’t agree more.

✨ Kim embodied the timeless elegance of Audrey Hepburn, reminding us that style, kindness, and confidence never go out of fashion.

It was a night full of laughter, inspiration, and powerful reminders of the women who lift us, shape us, and live within us.

Here’s to the icons we admire — and the icons we are becoming.

What a fun night at our ABWA meeting! We celebrated our January and February birthdays while celebrating the Olympics, and the room was full of energy. 🇺🇸✨

We also got to celebrate Ashley, who received a check for Professional Development—such a well‑deserved investment in her growth and leadership. 🌟

And the sweetest moment of all… Donna Rose was crowned our 2026 Chapter Sweetheart! 👑💐 Watching her shine was the perfect ending to a night full of sisterhood and celebration.

The American Business Women’s Association came together to celebrate the season with joy, laughter, and community spirit! Our annual Christmas gathering was filled with friendship, holiday cheer, and an enormous amount of Christmas basket raffles.

We were especially delighted by the guest appearance of a former member, Kerry which made the evening even more memorable.

A very special thank you to Teri for all her planning and coordination of the Christmas Basket program. We couldn’t do it without her.

It was a night of connection, celebration, and plenty of raffle winners—thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this holiday season sparkle!

Happy Monday! Don't forget to bring your Family Pathways items to our meeting tomorrow. Family Pathways supports single parents who are pursuing higher education by providing safe, affordable housing, personalized case management, and limited financial assistance. Many of these parents are working part-time—or focusing solely on school—while striving to build a better future for their families.

We’re collecting essential household and personal care items for the families currently in our program, as well as for new families who often arrive with little to furnish their homes. These items—things like bedding, kitchenware, cleaning supplies, and toiletries—make an incredible difference.

Your donation helps ease the financial burden for parents who are already working hard to break the cycle of poverty through education. Together, we can ensure that no family has to go without the basics while they work toward a brighter, more stable future.
