Mission 2540 is a non-profit 501(c)3 apartment ministry serving families in multi-housing units. We work to meet their physical, spiritual, and emotional needs.

Mission 2540 began in Amarillo in 2004, and now we get to build this ministry together in LBK!

⭐Volunteer Spotlight: Jason Arnold!⭐

One of our favorite things at Mission 2540 is seeing parents and their teenagers serve together, and Jason and his kids do that every Wednesday at Cameron Court!

The kids call Jason the "cool guy with the long hair." He is always up for throwing a football, jumping into a craft, or making the most of a conversation. He’s intentional about connecting with kids and encouraging them.

His steady presence and the encouragement he brings each week make such a difference at Cameron Court. We’re especially grateful for the faithful male role model he is for the kids we serve.

Jason, thank you for showing up, investing in these kids, and serving alongside your family! We’re so thankful you’re part of the Mission 2540 team!

💛 Volunteer Spotlight: Analeigh! 💛

This volunteer spotlight is extra special because it’s my daughter and best girl, Analeigh! 🥹

Analeigh serves so faithfully at Mission 2540, often coming straight from school because she doesn’t want to let down her friends at the apartments. That says so much about her heart. She is at her best when she’s serving others, and I love getting to watch that heart in action.

One of my favorite things to see is the special relationships she has built with a couple of our younger kids. Each week, she takes the lesson we’re teaching and finds ways to personalize it so they can understand and learn about Jesus. Those kids know they are loved by Analeigh, and most importantly, they are learning just how deeply they are loved by Jesus. ❤️

As her mom, getting to serve alongside her is such a gift. I couldn’t do Mission 2540 without her, and honestly, I wouldn’t want to! Watching her love these kids so well is one of the sweetest parts of this ministry.

Analeigh, I’m so proud of you and the way you show up, love big, and make sure these kids know they matter. You are making a difference, one little heart at a time!

🌟 VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: RACHEL COOPER 🌟

If you’ve spent much time around kids ministry, you know there are some people you always want on your team. Rachel Cooper is one of those people! She is a kids ministry veteran with a gift for making kids feel seen, loved, and safe. And she carries such a peaceful presence wherever she goes.

When we asked Rachel about her favorite part of serving with Mission 2540, she said: “My favorite part of serving with Mission 2540 is listening to the kids retell the Bible story in their own words. They always hear so much more than I expect!”

We love that, too. There’s something so special about listening to kids process what they’ve heard and discover what God is teaching them.

Rachel has also given some extra “yeses” through Mission 2540. She has come alongside an adult resident at Madison Park who needed someone they could trust and who would believe in them as they work through budgeting and finances.

Whether she’s sitting with a child or encouraging an adult, Rachel brings the same thing: a steady, peaceful presence that says, “You matter. I’m here."

Rachel, you are a beautiful picture of God’s trustworthiness to the people you serve. We’re so grateful for the way you keep saying yes and for the quiet, faithful way you help people feel seen and loved.

🍂 We are LOVING fall at Mission 2540 Lubbock! 🎃

This week was full of fun, creativity, and important reminders about who we are!

🎃 We made pumpkins with colorful pony beads.
📖 We kept working on our memory verse.
❤️ We learned the truth: “Who am I? I am loved!”
💪 And at Indiana Village, we kicked off a new topic all about COURAGE!

🌟 VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: LEVI BOHN 🌟

When I first started praying that God would lead me to people who would be great volunteers for Mission 2540, Levi Bohn’s name came to mind. So, like a crazy person, I stopped outside his house while he was watering the grass and told him that. And like an even crazier person… he said yes! 😂

God knew exactly what He was doing.

Levi has a genuine delight for every kid who walks through the doors of Kids Club—even when they’re challenging, chaotic, or constantly on the move. He is genuinely happy to see them every single week.

We especially love this picture because it captures a little bit of the beautiful chaos that sometimes comes with Kids Club. Bible study doesn’t always happen with everyone sitting quietly in a circle. Sometimes you meet kids right where they are—literally! And that’s exactly what Levi does. He meets them where they are, just like Jesus. At the end of this particular afternoon, one of the kids shared something he was struggling with and asked Levi to pray for him. That’s the kind of consistency, kindness, and safe presence that makes a difference.

Levi, we’re so thankful you said yes that day—and that you keep saying yes every week.

Here are some numbers behind our mission: 💙

It costs approximately $10,000–$12,000 each year to serve one apartment community. And that doesn’t include seasonal outreach opportunities or special events like Camp Awesome. That’s simply the base cost of showing up week after week—building relationships, serving kids and families, and faithfully doing the day-to-day ministry of Mission 2540.

We’re ready to grow Mission 2540 Lubbock! We already have some potential locations in mind, and we’re excited about what God may have next for us. But to take that next step, we need generous people who are willing to partner with us monthly.
So here’s our next fundraising goal:

🎯 10 new $25/month donors
🎯 5 new $50/month donors
🎯 5 new $100/month donors
(And of course, if you want to give more… we won’t stop you. 😉)
