The Lubbock High Speech and Debate Team is heading to the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) national tournament in June!!! The Lubbock High Speech and Debate Booster Club is raising money to help cover the cost of this week-long tournament in Richmond, VA. We would greatly appreciate your support in getting our awesome kids who have qualified to go to Nationals!! Last weekend, the Pampa Speech & Debate Team hosted their annual tournament as a fundraiser for Jude, a brave 2-year-old and the son of Bushland’s Speech & Debate coach. In May 2025, Jude was diagnosed with a rare cancer, Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH), and is currently undergoing chemotherapy with a long road of treatment and monitoring ahead.

Although our Lubbock High Speech & Debate team wasn’t able to attend the tournament, we want to stand alongside Pampa and the broader speech and debate community in supporting Jude, his big brother, and his parents during this challenging time. One simple way to help is by sharing and supporting the family’s Amazon wishlist.

As our team prepares to compete at the NSDA District Qualifying Tournament next weekend at Bushland, we would love to rally together as a speech and debate family to show our support for Jude — whether through donations, wishlist items, or simply sharing his story.
