Programs like Renewable Futures Lab don’t run themselves — they run because of incredible educators like Paul Pacheco and Grace Keefe, who showed up every day this summer to guide, teach, and inspire our students.

From classroom lessons to hands-on job site visits, Paul and Grace brought energy, patience, and expertise that helped 20 Lowell students discover a whole new world of career possibilities in clean energy.

Thank you, Mr. Pacheco and Ms. Keefe, for investing in Lowell’s next generation of green engineers! 💛

Summer 2026: growing opportunity, building the future! 🌱

As our summer programs wrap up, we're taking a moment to celebrate everything YOUR support made possible for Lowell youth. In just 7 weeks, with 30 industry partners by our side, we served 240+ Lowell students— and the results speak for themselves:

🔬 140 future scientists in STEM enrichment workshops through IDEA Camp
💼 80 students gaining real-world, paid pre-professional experience
🩺 15 aspiring medical professionals exploring healthcare careers through HYPPE x HMS MEDscience
⚡ 20 students completing our brand-new Renewable Futures Lab clean energy program
📚 1,350 Lowell children receiving free books through BookNooks

100% of Renewable Futures Lab students said they'd recommend the experience to a peer, and 93% of our Applied Externship students said the program helped shape their future goals.

This is what community investment looks like — thank you to every sponsor, partner, and supporter who believed in Lowell's young people this summer. This is just the beginning. 💛

We’re so proud of the incredible work happening through Project LEARN! 💙

This summer, three dozen Lowell High School students stepped into real-world externships across cybersecurity, marketing, law & civics, public health, education, and business/entrepreneurship.

From creating an AI receptionist and developing marketing campaigns to researching public health solutions and presenting recommendations to city leaders, these students didn’t just learn—they put their ideas into action.

Experiences like these give young people the opportunity to explore careers, build confidence, work alongside professionals, and see what’s possible for their future.

A huge congratulations to all of the students, mentors, and community partners who made this summer such a success! 👏

This summer’s Renewable Futures Lab gave Lowell teens a paid, hands-on look at careers in clean energy — from job sites to OSHA-10 certification. 🌱

100% said they’d recommend it to a friend. That’s the power of real-world learning. 💚

365 days. One space. Endless possibilities. ✨

From a blank room to a full-blown Learning Lab — the Nancy L. Donahue Learning Lab just wrapped its first year of turning ideas into IRL creations 🛠️📐 Glue guns, cardboard prototypes, and big dreams? We’ve got receipts.

Huge thank you to the Nancy L. & Richard K. Donahue Charitable Foundation and the Amelia Peabody Foundation for making this space possible for Lowell students. A space to dream. A place to build. A future being made, one project at a time. 🧡

A Special Shoutout to the LHS IT Help Desk! 💻👏

These students gained valuable, paid, hands-on experience working alongside the LPS IT Help Desk, diagnosing and repairing Chromebooks while learning how to identify common hardware issues, follow troubleshooting processes, and perform device repairs.

Beyond the technical skills, this internship helped students build confidence, workplace skills, and a clearer understanding of IT as a real career pathway.

And there’s an even bigger impact: the Chromebooks they worked on will be given to incoming LHS students this fall. That means their work is helping their peers start the school year with working technology while also helping reduce electronic waste. 🌎💻

We’re so proud of these students and the work they’re doing to support their school community!
