Back to Lowell High this week for our Wednesday workshop (2:45 to 4:15 pm, at the Freshman Academy, Room 713, with Ms. Coe). All grades are welcome (9th, 10th, 11th, 12th) -- in fact you don't even have to go to Lowell High to participate. If you're between the ages of 13 and 19, come out to do poetry with us -- write to a prompt, share work in progress, get ready to slam, etc. Plus free pizza! FreeVerse! @ Coffee & Cotton

1st Wednesday of the month (that’s 1/4 and 2/1 for January and February) FreeVerse! is going to Untitled for a workshop in the Tower Room (behind the fireplace) at Coffee & Cotton in Mill No. 5 (250 Jackson Street). Free to all young poets 13 to 19, we’ll do writing prompts, sharing and support for your performance poetry. The workshop runs from 5 to 6:30 pm, and then everyone is invited to stay to read and/or judge for the Untitled Open and Mill City Speaks Poetry Slam. Watch for youth-specific slams with cash prizes coming soon.

If you are between the ages of 13 and 19, you should know that we are starting a new weekly workshop series at Lowell High led by FreeVerse! alums and headed toward some cool events, both in the near future and the new year. The workshops are Wednesdays from 2:45 to 4:15, and we do sharing, writing prompts, and feedback on works in progress.
