Lowell Alliance We help Lowell, MA families and neighborhoods thrive by connecting them with critical resources and empowering them to fulfill their vision for community.

We believe communities thrive when families and neighborhood groups can readily access needed services, with the leadership and self-advocacy skills to create positive change in their lives and communities. This is best accomplished through mutually respectful partnerships, both with residents and other community organizations. By listening to each other, appreciating diversity, and fostering inclusion, we can learn from a wide variety of perspectives and benefit from the expression of many talents and abilities. Drawing on these combine strengths and shared vision, we have the opportunity to realize our potential for a vibrant and healthy community life. Our programs include: Empower - grassroots leadership development workshops and projects; Lowell Diaper Bank - 300,000 diapers distributed annually to families in need; Franklin Court Community Garden - urban garden oasis in the Acre neighborhood; Citizenship Clinic - helping eligible green card holders apply; helping residents navigate social service and government systems; collaborating on community-wide events and initiatives. Lowell Alliance is under the fiscal agency of YWCA of Lowell.

BREAKING NEWS!

The final count is in: 253 new voters registered during our third annual Lowell Voter Registration Week! That’s up from 165 in 2025 and more than 110 in 2024. A special shout-out to CMAA, whose team registered 130 new voters this year!

Together, we reached neighbors in English, Spanish, Khmer, Portuguese, and Haitian Creole. We met people at their doors, on their streets, at work, while shopping, and in the places they spend time every day. This year’s count shows why that steady, personal outreach matters.

Our community showed up, and we’ll be back for the fourth annual Lowell Voter Registration Week next year.

A huge thank you to the UMASS Lowell Softball team and everyone who donated to their diaper drive for the Lowell Diaper Bank! 🥎💙

The River Hawks collected over 4,000 diapers — enough to help provide diapers to more than 60 local families who are struggling to make ends meet. Diapers are an essential expense for families with young children, and your generosity will make a real difference for families right here in our community.

We’re so grateful for the River Hawks’ support and for everyone who stepped up to help. Thanks for being a great teammate to local families!

This Saturday, the UMASS Lowell Softball team is hosting a diaper drive for the Lowell Diaper Bank! Come watch the River Hawks and bring diapers to donate. Every donation helps local families access this essential resource.

Games are at 11AM and 1PM at River View Field, 900 Broadway St in Lowell.

We’re halfway through Voter Registration Week in Lowell, and the energy is going strong!

Registration tables are up and running across the city thanks to an incredible network of community partners - CMAA - Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association, Coalition for A Better Acre, Latinx Community Center for Empowerment - LCCE, Merrimack Valley Project, Girls Inc. of Greater Lowell, Solidarity Lowell, Dwelling House of Hope, Inc., Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers, Middlesex Community College, Community Teamwork, Inc., International Institute of New England, ACE Center for New Americans and volunteers. And we still have a couple more days to go!

If you see one of our tables, stop by! Check your voter registration, update your information if needed, register to vote, and make sure you’re ready for the upcoming election.

This is what civic engagement looks like: neighbors helping neighbors get informed, get registered, and get ready to participate.

A huge THANK YOU to every organization, volunteer, school, business, and community partner making this citywide effort possible. 💪🗳️

We had a wonderful time at JFK Plaza on Saturday, celebrating Lowell’s many cultures with our longtime friends and partners at Dwelling House of Hope!

We were thrilled to welcome community members to the Lowell Alliance table, where many stopped by for information about preparing for the upcoming election. We also noticed growing interest in the Massachusetts ballot questions, stay tuned, because we’ll be sharing more information soon!

We’re grateful to have been part of this beautiful community event, bringing people together and celebrating the cultures that help Lowell continue moving forward.
