Angels In Disguise

Angels In Disguise At Angels In Disguise, we stand up for those with Down syndrome in everything we say and do. They are pure and precious gifts. We are unique from most charities.

Celebrating 160 adoptions across the country, providing life-changing heart surgeries, and empowering individuals through educational grants and advocacy. THE ANGELS
Angels In Disguise is non-profit Down syndrome organization created in 2008. It began as a classical concert, held in honor and gratitude of a very special little girl, Elena Rose, on her first birthday. It has since grown into a caus

e, promoting Down syndrome awareness and celebrating the gifts of these incredible individuals. Elena Rose, and hundreds of thousands like her, are living proof that “normal” development or IQ are not prerequisites for life, happiness and love. Individuals with Down syndrome have a unique and unbelievable ability to enrich our lives, unlock our defenses and love so deeply. They are true angels who can touch our souls and warm our hearts, one smile at a time making the “typical” world around us a much better place. THE DISGUISE
Sadly, not everyone can see angels. Many cannot see the beauty of their disguise. Decades of negative and inaccurate public perception has minimized them. Far too often these individuals are underestimated by a focus on their disability rather than their ability. They are defined by a label, rather than their potential. There is not a more heartbreaking truth. When people with Down syndrome are inappropriately referenced, it sustains and perpetuates low expectations and negative stereotypes that further impede the acceptance of these angels in schools, the workplace and the community. This misunderstanding has hindered the cause of getting these individuals to a place they deserve in society, where they are welcomed and embraced as the uniquely valuable persons they are. Down syndrome is not a life sentence, it is a life enhancement. THE TRUTH
Fortunately, welcoming in society comes naturally as people take the time to get to know these angels. Given the opportunity and necessary support, individuals with Down syndrome thrive, raising the rest of us in the process. Their potential is limitless, their courage inspirational, their passion for love and life contagious, their smiles infectious. Anyone lucky enough to have a meaningful friendship with a Down syndrome individual is necessarily better for it. One person, one family, and one community at a time this truth is evident. They are true gifts, sent to teach us to love unconditionally. Angels full of wonder - no walls, no barriers, no prejudice. Their contribution to society only limited by our own attitudes and acceptance. THE HOPE
It is from this belief and offer of hope that Angels in Disguise was born. With a true understanding of Down syndrome, minds and misconceptions can change, hope can be given and precious lives can be enriched. By simply sharing the true gifts and potential of these individuals, , we can make a difference. Angels Disguise has changed hearts, minds, and lives across the nation, but there is much more work to be done. The only cure we seek is that of public perception. Fund raising, directly benefiting Down syndrome families and support groups, is only part of our efforts. Awareness is paramount. There are networks of amazing people in place across the country dedicated to the cause and hungry for the opportunity. They just need a little help. We are simply looking to give Down syndrome a voice and wings. A choir of angels will take it from there.

The biggest barrier to employment isn’t a lack of ability. It’s outdated misconceptions. When we look past the stigma, we see a workforce defined by resilience, precision, and incredible talent.

Just look at these trailblazers:
🎭 David DeSanctis – Leading actor (Where Hope Grows)
🌟 Zack Gottsagen – History-making Oscar presenter & actor
🎙️ Madison Tevlin – Powerhouse podcast host & advocate

When we stop focusing on what people can’t do, we open doors to what they excel at. Inclusion isn't just a "nice" thing to do. It’s better business. Diverse teams are more innovative, more empathetic, and more successful.

What does a cheque look like to you? To some, it’s just paper and ink. But to a child waiting for a life-saving surgery, a student dreaming of a classroom, or a family waiting to be whole... it’s the answer to a prayer.

Every dollar you’ve contributed to these funds has transformed into a heartbeat, a graduation cap, and a "welcome home." We are just the messengers; you are the heroes behind these smiles.

Thank you for choosing to be the turning point in these stories.

We can't help but to share this as soon as we heard the news.

This is Caleb. He just crossed the finish line of the London Marathon, marking his second 26.2-mile victory.

Caleb is the perfect example of why we need to rethink what "capability" looks like. From unbelievable memories to scientific minds, people with Down syndrome bring a unique brilliance to our world. It’s time we stop seeing "differences" and start seeing superpowers.

Once you see the value, the joy, and the raw talent within this community, your whole perspective changes. We’re dedicated to working our butts off to ensure every individual has the support they need to thrive and succeed.

Let’s support their journey to the finish line—and beyond!

One life can change the world. Max’s legacy isn’t just a memory; it’s a lifeline for the 50% of babies with Down syndrome born with heart defects.

Max showed us the way, and now we’re here to support the next generation of "Baby Legends."

We turn our heartbreak into hope, ensuring no family walks this path alone.

For those who are new here, or for those who have been with us since the beginning: Angels in Disguise is on a mission to celebrate the gift of Down Syndrome.

We believe every child is a miracle, and we are dedicated to proving that through tangible, life-changing action. From facilitating 164 adoptions across 42 states (and internationally!) to providing educational grants and critical heart surgeries, we are here to ensure that every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

Did you know? Thirty years ago, the life expectancy for someone with Down Syndrome was just 40 years. Today, with the right medical support and heart surgeries, it has reached 80 years. We aren’t just celebrating lives; we are helping save and extend them.

Together, we can continue to bring miracles home and show the world the incredible strengths and successes of the Down Syndrome community.
