Today, we celebrate our 444 donor advised fund holders who do good and strengthen communities across our region, and beyond. Last fiscal year alone, they recommended more than $12.4 million in grants to support the causes they care about!

Join us October 1 to honor the life and legacy of Robert Charles O’Hara Benjamin, a lawyer, journalist and advocate for voting rights.

BGCF, the Lexington Black Prosperity Initiative, the Lexington History Museum and the Lexington Justice and Legacy Alliance invite you to a free evening of remembrance and learning.

We’ll dedicate soil collected at the Equal Justice Initiative marker installation ceremony honoring Benjamin back on June 20. Then, experience a staged reading of “Benjamin’s Victory,” an original audio drama by Michele Tyrene Johnson. A light reception sponsored by the Commonwealth Institute for Black Studies will follow.

Local giving in action! The Mt. Sterling Montgomery County Community Fund saw a need and responded. It launched a Back to School Drive for Montgomery County Schools with a $1,000 grant. Local individuals and businesses joined in, bringing the total to more than $3,600. Together, they helped provide school supplies and clear backpacks for Montgomery County students. Thanks to everyone who helped us in Montgomery County! 💙💚

Our friends from The Ronald McDonald House just kicked off their "Just Imagine" campaign and they are on The DoGood Radio Hour to tell us all about it!

The Just Imagine campaign aims to reduce the gap between the number of families traveling to Lexington for specialized pediatric care and the number the facility can accommodate. With a goal of $37 million, this team is excited, inspired, and ready to open their doors to more families than ever before and truly make a difference in the lives of Kentuckians!
