🚨 STN Pulse Check 🚨

Every trauma professional has that one piece of equipment they never want to be without during a resuscitation.

This month, Brody Eick is asking:

What's your favorite piece of equipment for trauma resuscitation?

His answer? Let's just say it's not what most people would expect. 👀

Drop your go-to piece of equipment in the comments and tell us why. The comment with the best response will win a $50 STN Online Store gift card! 🎉

Will your answer match Brody's unconventional pick?

World Health Organisation 2026

STN was proud to represent trauma nursing on the global stage at the Acute Care Action Network (ACAN) convening during the World Health Assembly at the World Health Organisation in Geneva, Switzerland.

Tracy Cotner-Pouncy (STN President-Elect) and Helen Fahy Jowett (STN Immediate Past International Director) joined international leaders and organisations driving change in trauma, emergency and acute care systems across the world.

Powerful conversations, global collaboration and a shared commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable populations were at the centre of this incredible meeting.

Trauma nursing has a voice and STN is proud to be part of shaping the future of global acute care.

World Trauma Congress & European Congress of Trauma & Emergency Surgery 2026

STN was proud to have strong international representation at the World Trauma Congress & ECTES (European Congress of Trauma & Emergency Surgery) in Stockholm, Sweden.

Kristen Chreiman (STN President), Liz Atkins (Immediate Past President) and Helen Fahy Jowett (Immediate Past International Director) represented STN alongside global trauma leaders, strengthening international partnerships and advancing the voice of trauma nursing on the world stage.

A huge thank you to Knut Magne Kolstadbråten for coordinating the ESTES Nursing Section meeting and creating an incredible opportunity for trauma nurses from around the globe to connect, collaborate and lead meaningful change in trauma and emergency care.

The team also visited the Karolinska Trauma Centre, where productive meetings with the trauma teams sparked important discussions around trauma systems, injury prevention, nursing leadership and future international collaboration.

Global partnerships. Shared learning. Stronger trauma systems.
