Roice-Hurst Humane Society's new Animal Care Campus is officially open! The 3,000-square-foot expansion adds capacity for low-cost spay/neuter services and creates a better experience for adopters, volunteers, and fosters, part of a multi-organization partnership working to expand affordable veterinary care across Western Colorado. We were thrilled to attend the grand opening last week and are grateful to have supported this project through our 2026 Innovation and Collaboration grant.

On Thursday, Sept. 10, the Roice-Hurst Humane Society let the cat out of the bag, unveiling major campus and service expansions after more than six months of construction and more

Los Huerfanos Animal Welfare Association and community partners marked a major milestone with the largest spay/neuter clinic yet held in Walsenburg. Over 230 owned pets and community cats received spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, and/or microchipping, supporting healthier animals and fewer unwanted litters across the community.

AAF is proud to support LHAWA's work in Southern Colorado.
