SWLA Firefighter's Association is excited to announce Camp ResQ. Camp ResQ is an intense program designed for girls in 9th to 12th grade only to train alongside female firefighters and law enforcement personnel to learn firefighting, police, and EMS skills. The camp also teaches defensive tactics, involves physical activities, and develops investigative abilities. The cost is $150 which includes lunch.

This camp helps to build courage, teamwork and self-confidence. Building the emergency responders of tomorrow.

A huge thank you to all the people who came out and made our Pub Crawl a big success. We can’t do what we do without you.

And even bigger, thank you to all our pubs who let us crawl from place to place and kept us from going thirsty. We really couldn’t do it without you.

Anyone who did not get a ticket is welcome to join us on the Pub Crawl and you will just have to purchase you own drinks.

We will be reselling tickets of those that don’t show up. If you are going to be late then you need to notify me so that we don’t resale your ticket.

If you still want to try for a ticket then put your name on the on site waitlist at registration.

The Pub Crawl is now sold out. If you would still like to try for tickets, you need to put your name on the waiting list. As people ask for refunds, we go down the waitlist and assign tickets for purchase. You must check your email frequently to see if you have been assigned a ticket because you will only have a limited amount of time to claim the ticket before we move onto the next person.

You will need to put a name on the list waitlist for each person that needs a ticket. So if you need four tickets, your name will be on the waitlist four times.

We look to help emergency responder families that are having a tough time making it through the holidays and was able to buy gifts for foster kids and battered women’s shelter kids this year.

Congratulations to another one of our 2025-2026 Jeanie Allen Scholarship recipients Anna Clair Duhon.

Anna Claire is the daughter of Captain Rodney Duhon with the Lake Charles Fire Department.
She graduated with top honors / summa cm laude / french Immersion from Barbe High School.

she is attending Northwestern State University, will be pole vaulting for the track team and majoring in Physical Therapy.

Congratulations to our SWLA Firefighter athletes who represented at the 2025 World Firefighter Challenge. 27 countries represented. Truly a display of brotherhood and dedication.

They received Gold medal in Over 50 Coed Relay and Silver medal in Over 40 Female Relay.
