Selling books at markets, festivals, conventions, and author events requires more than arranging your books on a table and hoping the literary gods send readers your way.

In this Booked & Busy workshop, Riah Evely—author and owner of The Charmed Page indie bookstore—shares practical strategies to help indie and self-published authors sell more books at in-person events without becoming the human equivalent of a push notification.

We’re covering:

📚 How to promote your appearance before the event
📚 Using preorders and convenient event pickup to guarantee sales
📚 What to bring—and how to make it look like people should stop
📚 Creating clear displays, bundles, and event exclusives
📚 Starting conversations without ambushing innocent passersby
📚 Making it ridiculously easy for readers to understand what your book is, who it’s for, and how to buy it
📚 Turning a single event into future readers, followers, and sales

Whether you’re preparing for your first local market or your fiftieth convention, these tips will help you create a table that attracts readers, communicate your books more confidently, and leave with fewer boxes than you arrived with. That is the dream. Well, that and someone buying the entire series without needing to be emotionally blackmailed.
