As fans purchase tickets, book travel, reserve lodging, and shop for merchandise, scammers are looking for opportunities to take advantage of the excitement.

BBB SW Louisiana encourages consumers to watch for:
🎟️ Fake ticket sales
🏨 Vacation rental scams
✈️ Fraudulent travel packages
👕 Counterfeit merchandise
📱 Phishing emails, texts, and social media messages

Before making a purchase:
✔ Buy from trusted sources
✔ Use a credit card when possible
✔ Research businesses at BBB.org
✔ Be cautious of deals that seem too good to be true

Businesses should also remain vigilant against fraud attempts targeting event-related promotions, reservations, and payment transactions.

We’re proud to highlight Christa Comeaux, Board Member of BBB SW Louisiana and Executive Director of the Home Builders Association of SWLA.

In her role with HBA of SWLA, Christa oversees daily operations, member engagement, events, and organizational growth — all while focusing on building meaningful relationships and supporting a strong, thriving business community.

For Christa, serving with BBB SWLA is a natural extension of her personal values of honesty, transparency, and integrity. She believes ethical business practices create stronger connections between businesses and consumers, helping communities grow through trust and accountability.

One of the most rewarding aspects of her board service has been collaborating with fellow leaders who share a commitment to strengthening and supporting Southwest Louisiana’s business community.

In addition to her work with BBB SWLA, Christa serves as a commissioner for
Calcasieu Parish E911 and is involved with the Small Business Association of Southwest Louisiana.

Outside of work, she enjoys staying active in the community, spending time with family and friends, and relaxing with her fur babies, Georgia and Nellie — and, of course, a glass of wine.

We’re proud to highlight Kayla Baham, Board Member of the BBB Serving Southwest Louisiana Board and Founder & CEO of Aging with Grace Senior Living Advisors.

Founded three years ago, Aging with Grace was built on Kayla’s passion for helping families navigate important senior care decisions with compassion, clarity, and expertise. She finds the greatest joy in seeing clients thrive again after transitioning into senior living communities that truly meet their needs.

As a first-year BBB board member, Kayla values the role BBB plays in promoting transparency, accountability, and higher standards of service throughout our community. She believes businesses should always prioritize doing what is good and right for the people they serve above financial performance alone.

Beyond her work with BBB SWLA, Kayla has dedicated more than 15 years of service to the Alzheimer's Association Louisiana Chapter - Lake Charles through various board leadership roles and recently served on the CSA Conference Program Committee.

We’re proud to highlight Amanda Cox, Secretary of the BBB SW Louisiana Board.

With more than a decade in real estate and consistently closing 90–110 transactions annually, Amanda has earned top-producing REALTOR® with Compass - Lake Charles - SWLA and has built a reputation grounded in trust, integrity, and service. She believes homeownership is an achievable part of the American Dream and feels honored to walk alongside clients during some of life’s biggest transitions.

Amanda’s passion for helping others is what drew her to BBB SWLA. To her, trust and integrity are the foundation of every successful business relationship — especially in a community still rebuilding and recovering from the challenges faced in recent years.

One of her favorite BBB memories? Serving as the directional sign holder at a community Shred-Fest event and greeting neighbors as they drove through. “I LOVED IT,” she shared — even laughing that some people stopped by just to see what was happening!

Outside of work, Amanda enjoys reading, writing, long walks, movies, and spending time with her four dogs (“Yep — it’s nuts!”). She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Lake Charles Little Theatre during its historic 100th year and volunteers with the Southwest Louisiana Association of Realtors New Agent Orientation Committee.

Local business professionals joined us for The AI Advantage (Without the Liability) featuring Shawn Davis of Southern Technologies, LLC, where attendees learned practical ways to use AI tools to improve efficiency, customer service, and daily business operations — while also understanding the risks and responsibilities that come with AI technology.
