TBE TUESDAY!!

Meet Mykal Rodriquez!

🎓 Sophomore
📚Computer Science Major
🛠️ Operations Executive

Why did you join The Big Event?

“I wanted to join The Big Event because I wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself. I love the message of selfless service and the idea of simply saying “thank you” to Southwest Louisiana. Lake Charles and the surrounding communities do so much for McNeese and support its students throughout the year, and I wanted a way to express my gratitude and give back to the community that gives so much to us.

I also felt that I had something meaningful to contribute to The Big Event. I wanted to use my skills in a way that could make a real difference and help the organization grow, rather than letting those skills go to waste. For me, The Big Event is an opportunity to serve, contribute, and show appreciation to the community that continues to support McNeese and its students.”

TBE TUESDAY!!

Meet our Associate Director, Skylar Lacomb!

🎓 Senior
📚 Business Management

Why did you join The Big Event?

“I joined The Big Event because I want to make serving others a part of my everyday life. This organization gives me the guidance and opportunities to put that desire into action. Serving our community helps me grow as a person and become a leader who sets a positive example for younger generations. I hope to show other students how we can thank our community through acts of service, both BIG and little. Every act doesn’t have to be big to make a difference. Even the smallest act of kindness can have a meaningful impact.”

SELFLESS SERVICE SUNDAY 💚

Small acts of kindness can make a big difference!

This week, the City of Lake Charles announced the extension of its Back-to-School Hygiene Products Drive, helping provide everyday essentials to students in need throughout our community.

From toothbrushes to deodorant, something as simple as donating a hygiene product can help a student feel more confident and cared for.

Want to make a difference? Donations are being accepted at Lake Charles City Hall through October 15!
