Hex Appeal: A Wicked Drag Revue
Friday, October 30 at The Root Note

https://www.eventbrite.com/e/hex-appeal-a-wicked-drag-revue-tickets-2001886704021

Get ready for a night of glamour, frights, and Halloween magic at Hex Appeal: A Wicked Drag Revue! Join us at The Root Note for an evening featuring some of the region’s most captivating drag performers, spooky surprises, and community fun.

Doors and bar open at 6:00 PM and the show beginning at 7:00 PM.

The evening will feature performances from local favorites, including the stunning Bullinda Chinashoppe and your hilarious host, Kathy Kalamity, serving up comedy throughout the night (not a drag performance, but plenty of laughs). We're also excited to welcome Ozy the Bard, 1st runner-up of La Crosse Pride, for a special tip spot performance.

Rounding out the cast are a bewitching lineup of talented entertainers: Sage Umbra, Odessa Brat, and Mor Glamazon G Davenport, bringing plenty of spooky, sexy, and spellbinding energy to the stage.

Come dressed to impress because we'll be holding a Halloween costume contest with prizes for the best looks of the night. Plus, take your chances on our Halloween raffle baskets, with proceeds benefiting The Center.

Today is National Coming Out Day! National Coming Out Day began in 1988, focusing on a basic form of activism of coming out to family, friends and colleagues and living openly as an LGBTQ+ person.

While we recognize not everyone has the space to come out, please know you are loved and welcome at The Center as you are! Come celebrate with us on October 13th during our open hours, 10am-3pm, and grab a small pride flag. We have a variety of identities to choose from, available while supplies lasts!

At La Crosse Pride, we feature our previous winners of the La Crosse Pride Pageant! Thank you to all the formers for hanging out with us during Pride Weekend - we had a great time!

Our La Crosse Pride Pageant has been happening for 12 years, formerly named So You Think You Can Drag. Other similar pageants have been held in the area, and ours began exclusively as a fundraiser for The Center: 7 Rivers LGBTQ Connection. The winner was based on total fundraising score, along with talent. Now, the contestants have to score in Fundraising, Question & Answer, Pride Wear and Talent in order to win. With these additional categories, our pageant also qualifies the winner to compete at the Club Wisconsin Pageantry. Our pageant also used to crown a Mr and Miss, but after Covid-19, the change was made to only crown one winner once the pageant begun again.
