🎃👻 Great news! Grandma's Arms Daycare is returning to Trick or Treat at OCC this year! 🍬

We’d love your help to make sure all residents who want to participate can hand out candy to our little visitors. We would appreciate any candy donations—or monetary contributions to help cover the cost of candy.

Halloween Candy Bag Donations can be brought to Recreation Therapy at OCC or the Front Desk at OCC.

Yesterday, Bluff Country Snakes was honored to be part of the Down Syndrome Association of WI-Greater La Crosse Awareness Walk at the Onalaska YMCA.

And these pictures say so much about why we do what we do.

We watched kids and adults approach with hesitation. We saw guarded expressions turn into questions. Questions turned into curiosity. And curiosity eventually turned into understanding, acceptance, and sometimes even a hand reaching out to touch something they never thought they would.

That transformation is what Bluff Country Snakes is all about.

Our animals may be the ones who get people through the door, but the bigger lesson is about being willing to learn about something—or someone—we don't understand before deciding how we feel about them.

A HUGE shout-out to our Junior Volunteers, Hendrix and Beckett! Watching them patiently answer questions, share their knowledge, encourage nervous visitors, and represent BCS with such confidence makes us incredibly proud. They are becoming some pretty remarkable educators and leaders. We also welcomed our newest Junior Volunteer, Barrett. We are excited to have him at more shows in the future.

And hello to all of our new Facebook friends who found us yesterday! 👋🐍 We’re so glad you’re here.

Petey is a hard working Pueblan milk snake and one of our many animal ambassadors at Bluff Country Snakes. He’s a calm, curious guy who helps us introduce people to reptiles and challenge some of the fear and misconceptions surrounding them.

We’re looking forward to introducing you to more of our ambassadors!

This pic was taken at our last Sip N Slither event at UnW**e'd W**e Bar and is a testimonial to the work we do and how a little wonder, patience and understanding can lead to confidence, acceptance and growth.

Would you believe one of the beautiful women in this photo was deathly afraid of snakes just an hour before this photo was taken? 🤯 Big Jerry has fixed a lot of snake fear in our Coulee Region. And he's just getting started!

Thank you to everyone that has attended any of our Sip N Slither events, or accidentally happened upon one and ended up learning to accept snakes, while becoming one of our biggest fans (Cecilia😘).
