This Memorial Day, tune in to watch "Come Here, Brother Wolf" on WXOW at 4 p.m.

Co-film makers Dustin Luecke and Martha Boehm ’23 worked with Fr. Conrad Targonski OFM, Viterbo chaplain, and other local veterans to explore various St. Francis of Assisi sites. They explore how Francis of Assisi coped with what was likely post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and how veterans are connecting that with their own experience.

It will also air in Wausau (WAOW 9), Eau Claire (WQOW 18), and Madison (WKOW 27).

Viterbo is presenting the documentary Come Here, Brother Wolf: A Veterans Pilgrimage on local television station WXOW 19 at 4 p.m. on Memorial Day.

The film follows 30 military veterans on pilgrimage throughout Italy, visiting St Francis and St Clare of Assisi sites. Fr. Conrad Targonski, OFM leads the pilgrimage and it features local veterans, and Viterbo alumni and students are also featured in the documentary.

It will also air in Wausau (WAOW 9), Eau Claire (WQOW 18), and Madison (WKOW 27).

Congratulations to Anna Sprague '08 on her new role as Executive Director at TheExchange - La Crosse Area Furniture Bank

Announcing our new executive director, Anna Sprague! Anna began her duties at theExchange on May 4. She grew up in La Crosse and comes with a wealth of great experience working at local nonprofits. Anna said she enjoys nonprofit work because it aligns with her desire to serve the community. The mission of theExchange was especially appealing to her.

"This role feels like a perfect fit where I can bring the knowledge and connections I've formed over the past five years to serve our neighbors," said Anna. "theExchange keeps valuable resources out of the landfill and sets households up for success--it's been lovely to witness this in my first weeks here. I have immense gratitude for the volunteers, staff and donors who make it all happen."

Congratulations Emilio and Viterbo Campus Ministry.

Please join us in congratulating Viterbo Director of Campus Ministry Emilio Alvarez, who will be ordained to the permanent diaconate on Saturday, June 6, at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral.

“It was God calling me,” Alvarez said of his decision to become a Deacon. “I have always felt drawn to serve our community, the people in our lives, and the Church.”

After five years of formation, study, and discernment, Emilio will continue his ministry serving the Viterbo community and will be assigned to San Damiano Chapel.

Thank you, Emilio, for your faithful service to Viterbo and the Church.

On Thursday evening, 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award honoree Linsie Clements '08 spoke to the Class of 2026 at their Senior Soirée dinner. Linsie shared insights from her Viterbo experience and offered advice, encouragement, and congratulations to our newest alumni on behalf of the entire Viterbo Alumni Community.
