NOTICE: Friday, October 16, 2026 Gateway Area Council Scout Office and Scout Shop will be closed due to road construction project in front of the office at 2600 Quarry Road. Our entrance will not be accessible Friday and through the weekend. Council staff will be working remotely on Friday and will be reachable by cell # and/or email. Office will reopen Monday normal hours. THANK YOU.

Invest a Day — Strengthen Our Community!
We are incredibly grateful to our community partners, Altra Federal Credit Union and Marine Credit Union, for spending a morning of service with Scouting America Gateway Area Council!

Twenty-two volunteers tackled two very different, but equally important, projects that helped keep our mission to support local Scout and non-scout youth moving forward.

Camp Decorah Deep Clean
Altra and Marine teams rolled up their sleeves in Hagerman Hall's kitchen at Camp Decorah for an end-of-season deep clean. Cabinets were emptied and wiped inside and out, expired items were discarded, dishes, cups, and utensils were thoroughly washed, and floors were mopped. Their hard work will help ensure the facility is clean, organized, and ready for future Scouts and guests.

Friends of Scouting Mailing Project
A second team from Altra helped prepare our annual Friends of Scouting mailing by folding, stuffing, labeling, sealing, and sorting hundreds of pieces. Their efforts saved countless staff hours and will help us connect with supporters throughout our council.

Today's projects were made possible by Altra Federal Credit Union and Marine Credit Union who empower their employees to give back through volunteer time off programs. These partnerships create meaningful impacts throughout our communities and strengthen organizations like Scouting America.

Boo-tiful work, Bennett Dahlen, Pack 77, West Salem! You haunted every sales opportunity and filled your popcorn order sheet from top to bottom. That's a ghostly good achievement!

Gateway Scouts aren't disappearing just yet... there are still TWO MORE WEEKS left to sell popcorn! Keep up the great work and see how many more orders you can collect before the sale ends.
