Dear community: anyone a whiz at fixing a busted wheel on our little happy cart? Might need a new tire. I don’t even know… 😅 but one reason you haven’t seen her is she’s stuck in the garage of Old Dutch Church because we can’t roll her out due to the faulty tire. If this kind of repair is in your wheelhouse (⬅️ see what we did there… yep uh huh!) then please DM us… and thank you so much to anyone that can help the happy cart mascot ship sail again!

Coming up this Wednesday at The Hapoy Cart’s free vegan food for community distribution: This is a peak of Chapter 3… from the beautiful film series The Four Elements of Mutual Aid… we can’t wait to watch Part four with you! It’s truly beautiful and inspiring and will bring you hope and empowerment in these times.

Date: Wednesday 9/9/26
Doors open and free vegan food starts being served at 4:30 PM (can take food to go but stayyyyyyy)

Screening starts at 5 PM, with a discussion following outside at the picnic table at 6 PM.

Dear friends: This week Wednesday 9/9, we are up to Episode/Chapter 4 of the “Four Elements of Mutual Aid” series but you can jump at any time even if you missed the first ones and learn and be sooooo inspired. We will be serving Happy Cart delish free vegan food starting at 4:30 and the film starts at 5. And once again there will be a collection area where you can donate supplies and goods for families impacted by ICE organized by Angry Asian Womxn in collaboration with with food4nj and The World’s Borough Bookshop ! See Angry Asian Womxn page for the list of NEW (not old or used) supplies needed (we also have the list in previous post and will share the graphic again later today.😅) Let’s make this week a huge success and collect and donate a lot so the families impacted feel the love and support!
And activists will be on hand with lots of literature, two free tables of education and materials, and are there to answer your questions.

Come for the yummy free food, literature and film… support the families of those who languish in detention centers, and be a part of building a stronger community and better future! Let’s take care of each other. We all deserve to thrive. ✊💚

Friends - BESIDES the usual free vegan food offering, this Wednesday August 26th, 2026 there will be this continuing EDUCATIONAL OFFERING: Local activists will be screening the 3rd Chapter of “The Four Elements of Mutual Aid” series, 5 - 6 pm followed by community discussion. The installments are designed so you can jump in at any time, so come learn with us and enjoy a healthy meal! It’s such a powerful series.

And we will continue to be a collection point for Angry Asian Womxn in their ongoing work getting much needed supplies to families impacted by ICE, along with wonderful entities food4nj and The World’s Borough Bookshop … SEE THE LIST that we shared last week (also is in our stories and posted at AAW’s account page). Big note: please stick to the needed items on the list. Thank you for stepping up!

Here for another 1/2 hour: Incredible Lentil patties with salad and roasted mushroom topping and tomatoes (you can take home a little bag of beautiful tomatoes thanks to the wonderful people at Tributary Farm 🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ ) and Bread from Bread Alone Bakery ! The Free Table has free books care of Lantern Publishing & Media and lots of beautiful educational literature created by folks feom Food Empowerment Project and Vegan Outreach 💛💛💛💛 - all organized by Institute For Animal Happiness and healthy whole vegan foods cooked up by gab’s veg table … Blackbird Infoshop & Cafe is here with free masks and empowering zines, free covid tests and so much more… Angry Asian Womxn is collecting supplies for people and families affected by ICE and the bounty being collected is so loving and moving.

Can we keep coming together like tree roots and mycelium and connect to keep each other strong, uplifted and help us literally survive? Let’s do this! We can do this. Your energy and participation are welcomed in the mix.

We are here each week 4:40-6:15ish but often have food still to distribute til 6:30 (boxed up, so try us. If we haven’t run out we want it to get to you.)
