It is with the heaviest of hearts that I write this post. On behalf of Catskill Ballet Theatre and the Ballet School of Kingston, we extend our deepest condolences to the family of Leonard Easter, who passed on October 5th. Leonard, along with his wife, Nina, has been and will continue to be an integral part of the fabric of our organization and school, as Leonard's influence on our ballet community lives on. As CBT's trusted legal advisor, and most importantly, friend- Leonard was a staunch supporter of the arts and the community. Together, Leonard and Nina established our Ballet Friends program, which provides funding for countless children to attend our productions. Leonard's passion for equality and social justice and his wise counsel always resulted in securing, protecting, involving, and inspiring the best of what we have to offer. Leonard was one of a kind- and there will never be anyone to take his place as our friend and mentor. Please join us in sending love and healing to his beautiful wife, Nina Easter, a teacher at the Ballet School of Kingston; his daughters, Lena and Hope, who both graced our studio and stages for many years; as well as Faith, Arun, and Rumi, who have all lost their father much too soon.
