People's Place People's Place Food Pantry, Community Cafe', Wellness Empowerment Center & Thrift Store serving Ulster County with over 20 free programs.

A Corner Stone of the Community since 1972. Services Provided:
The Food Pantry supplies fresh, frozen,canned, and boxed food that equals at least 3 meals a day for 3 days. Individuals and families register and may receive food twice a month. In addition to this, a mix of free food items are provided daily to all who visit. These products may be taken daily. The Thrift Store carries clothing and s

mall household items. We provide free and affordable clothing and footwear for adults and children. The Thrift Store relies solely on donations and is one of the major funding sources for our Food Pantry. The Personal Care Closet offers a selection of soaps, shampoos, deodorant, toothpaste and brushes. Thanksgiving and Holiday programs.

Another local favorite is joining Dine Out for People’s Place on Wednesday, October 14th! 💙

If you haven’t been to Christina’s in a while, now’s the perfect time to stop in before Dine Out and refresh your memory on all those delicious choices. And if you already have a favorite dish… well, your October 14th order might already be decided! I know what I'm choosing!

We’re not spilling the beans just yet… but we have some amazing local restaurants, cafés, breweries, and eateries joining us for Dine Out for People’s Place! 💙

Starting at the end of THIS WEEK, we’ll begin announcing our participating locations!

Stay tuned and start thinking about where you’ll be dining out on Wednesday, October 14th!

Some locations may be participating on an alternate day based on their regular business hours — we’ll share all the details with each announcement!

FREE CHILDREN’S VISION SCREENING

Early detection can make a lifelong difference! The Lions SEE (Screening Eyes Early) Vision Screening Program helps identify potential vision problems in children ages 6 months through 6 years old.

People’s Place Wellness Empowerment Center

Trained Lions Club volunteers will use specialized vision screening equipment to check for possible concerns that may lead to Amblyopia (“lazy eye”) and other vision disorders.

Because so much of a child’s learning is visual, identifying vision concerns early is incredibly important. Screening can help determine whether a child should be referred to an eye care professional for further evaluation.

IMPORTANT:
Children MUST have a signed consent form completed BEFORE screening and MUST be present at the event.

Another Exciting NEW Fundraiser This Year — DINE OUT!

We’re excited to introduce Dine Out, a brand-new fundraiser supporting People’s Place!

So, what is Dine Out?
On Wednesday, October 14th, participating local businesses throughout Ulster and Dutchess Counties will come together to support the programs and services of People’s Place.

And when we say Dine Out, we mean there will be plenty of ways to participate! Whether you’re grabbing your morning coffee, meeting a friend for lunch, enjoying dinner out, stopping by a local brewery, or all the above you can make your plans for the day while supporting People’s Place.

Stay tuned! We’ll be announcing participating restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, and more leading up to the event.

Want to see where you can nosh that day?
All participating locations will also be listed on our website under Fundraisers, making it easy to choose where you want to eat, sip, and support!

A little note: Some of our participating restaurants are normally closed on Wednesdays — but they still want to be part of Dine Out! For those locations, we’ll let you know the alternate day they’ll be participating, so you won’t miss your chance to support them and People’s Place.

And keep an eye out for our Dine Out posters! Participating locations will be displaying them so you’ll know exactly where you can Dine Out for People’s Place!

Back to school is right around the corner… but summer isn’t over yet!

There are still TWO WEEKS LEFT of our Bag Summer Hunger Program!

What is Bag Summer Hunger?
Families with school-aged children can register for the program and visit us once a week to receive a bag filled with breakfast and lunch items to help keep kids fed while they’re home for summer break.

If your family has already been participating this summer, don’t forget — you still have two more weeks! Come see us and pick up your weekly bag.

Haven’t participated yet? There’s still time to register and take advantage of the program before school starts!

At People’s Place, we’re here to help make sure children in our community have what they need all summer long.

🥪 ¿Qué es Bag Summer Hunger?
