💙 This is 1HOPE. This is community.
When a foster family shares a need after welcoming a child into care, 1HOPE is ready to help. Today was no different—but today was a hard one.
Two little girls came into care needing some extra love and needing the basics quickly. Our team sprang into action so we could get clean clothes on their bodies, shoes on their feet, and comfort items in their hands** as soon as possible.
Before heading to their foster home, we were able to send them with backpacks filled with clothes, a special toy, and supplies to help their foster momma get through those first few days. And sometimes something as simple as providing dinner for the family is one less thing they have to worry about on an already overwhelming day. 💙
But we're not done.
Next, we will help get the girls professional care for their hair and gather everything they need for school so they can walk through those doors feeling confident, cared for, and proud.
THIS is 1HOPE. It's responding when the call comes. It's surrounding a foster family when they say YES. And it's making sure children entering care know there is an entire community ready to show up for them.
This is why we need our community.
This is why we need more foster homes.
And this is why every donation, volunteer, partnership, and person who says “How can I help?” matters.
