Who is Our Village Network here to support? 💙

Our Village Network provides crisis kits filled with comfort and essential items for children and caregivers in Kenosha and surrounding communities who are facing difficult circumstances.

This can include families experiencing:
🏠 Homelessness or housing instability
🩷 Domestic violence
👨‍👩‍👧 Foster care transitions
💙 Family or caregiving changes
🧳 Other challenging life circumstances where a little extra comfort and support can make a difference

Our goal is simple: to help people feel seen, supported, and cared for during some of life's hardest moments.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a difficult transition and could benefit from a crisis kit, we want you to know that you are not alone.

And if you know someone who may qualify, please consider sharing this post. You never know who might need their village today.

The numbers tell us something important: many families and individuals face barriers that go far beyond what we see on the surface.

Economic abuse, financial inequality, and mental health crises can make it harder to access basic necessities, feel safe, and navigate difficult transitions.

That’s where community comes in.

Our Village Network provides crisis kits filled with comfort and essential items for children and caregivers facing experiences such as homelessness, domestic violence, foster care transitions, and other difficult circumstances.

A small act of support can remind someone that they are seen, cared for, and not alone.

Every child deserves to feel celebrated — even during life’s most difficult transitions.

Our Birthday Kits are filled with fun, celebration, and a little extra love for children in our community who may be experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, foster care transitions, or other crises.

Because sometimes a birthday kit is more than just a gift. It’s a reminder:
You are seen. You are valued. You are cared for. 💙

Today at the Kenosha HarborMarket was exactly what Our Village Network is about. 💙

A community full of love, hope, compassion, and connection. So many new friends and faces stopped by to learn about OVN, and while they were there, they got the official Bloom Bar experience, building a gorgeous bouquet to take home. 🌸

And none of it would have been possible without our friend Elizabeth Libia.

If you know Elizabeth, you know this is simply who she is. She truly believes in doing her part to make the world a little better for the people around her. She gives her time, shares what she has, encourages others, and finds ways to bring a little joy wherever she can. She generously volunteered the Bloom Bar to OVN today because she believed it could help us connect with our community.

That kind of heart is exactly what OVN was built around. People helping people. Neighbors showing up for neighbors.

We know Elizabeth is going to be incredibly successful with the Bloom Bar because she isn’t just building bouquets. She’s creating moments of connection and happiness. 🌷 Hearts like hers are what keep OVN running on love, generosity, and donations. 😂💙

And a huge thank you to the volunteers who showed up for OVN today. From setting up early this morning and taking everything down at the end of a long day, to talking with visitors, spreading the word about what we do, and simply being really good company, you made today possible. OVN may have a founder, but it takes a whole village of people willing to roll up their sleeves and show up to make this work happen. I am incredibly grateful for every one of you. 💙

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, learned about our mission, made a bouquet, donated, followed us, or simply said hello.

Today, downtown Kenosha reminded us what a village can look like. And it was beautiful. 🌸💙

💙 The Village Showed Up in Kenosha!

Last week, Our Village Network dropped off 24 crisis bags for the Kenosha Police Department IMPACT Team to have available when they encounter children and families facing difficult or unexpected circumstances.

Each bag represents more than supplies. It represents a moment of comfort, dignity, and reassurance during a time when someone may need it most.

These 24 bags are now in the hands of people who can put them directly into the community when the need arises. That is what partnership looks like. That is what a caring village can do.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donates, volunteers, shares our mission, and helps us continue filling these bags. You are part of every bag we deliver and every family it reaches.

Our Village Network supports children and caregivers in Kenosha and surrounding communities who are navigating challenging circumstances such as homelessness, domestic violence, foster care transitions, and other unexpected crises.

We provide crisis kits filled with comfort items and essential supplies to help bring a little comfort, stability, and care during times when families need it most. 💕

It’s been an incredible few days at Our Village Network, and we are overflowing with gratitude. Because of this community’s generosity and heart, our shelves are full, our hands have been busy, and our hearts are even fuller 💙🧡💛

Here’s a look at what the Village has been up to:

🎒 50 crisis kits prepped for the Gear Up for Middle School event
💙 12 kits readied for Kenosha Achievement Center
💛 24 kits prepared for Fight to End Exploitation
🧴 Diapers, wipes, women's personal care items and a Little Tikes climber donated to the Women’s Resource Center
📦 A full inventory cycle count completed, with everything organized and reset for the next round of outreach
⚓ And we’re gearing up for next weekend at the Kenosha HarborMarket!

That’s 86 kits prepared for our community in just a few days: each one packed with care, dignity, and the reminder that no one has to face hard times alone.

Behind every kit is a message: you matter, you are seen, and your community is here for you.

Organizations are so much more powerful when they choose to work together. 💙

When Rachel Harrison, Executive Director of Fight to End Exploitation (FEE), shared why she decided to support Our Village Network, her words really captured what we believe a village is supposed to be:

“OVN provides amazing and thoughtful kits that are truly needed in our community, and FEE regularly comes across people who can benefit from them. By FEE helping OVN, OVN helps FEE just as much!”

And that means so much to us.

OVN can thoughtfully assemble kits for children and caregivers facing difficult circumstances, but we also need community partners who can help those resources reach the people who need them most. That is what makes relationships like this so important.

Rachel, thank you for believing in collaboration, for believing in our mission, and for recognizing that when organizations share their strengths, the entire community becomes stronger.
