Parents & Caregivers: The most important conversations don't have to be the hardest ones.

Talking with kids about alcohol, va**ng, ni****ne, and other substances can feel overwhelming. But prevention doesn't start with one big conversation. It starts with small talks, honest answers, and keeping the lines of communication open.

During Substance Use Prevention Month, Hope Council is sharing practical guidance and resources to help Kenosha County families navigate today's challenges.

đź’¬ When should you start talking?
đź’ś How does mental health factor into prevention?
🔎 What should parents know about va**ng, fentanyl and other substances?

You don't need to have all the answers. You just need to start the conversation.

💙 It takes a village, and we’ve got a pretty amazing one growing right here in Kenosha!

Earlier this summer, Darlene, the founder of Our Village Network Inc., reached out to Hope Council with a simple offer: Can we help?

And they haven’t stopped showing up since! From helping stock our free Public Health Vending Machine to participating in our Mental Health First Aid training, they’ve already demonstrated what community partnership is all about.

Our Village Network is a new local nonprofit dedicated to supporting children and families facing difficult circumstances by providing essential supplies, comfort kits, birthday bags, and other thoughtful resources that bring comfort, dignity, and hope when they’re needed most.

As they continue to grow, we want to help spread the word about the wonderful work they’re doing!

💙 Here’s where YOU come in! Take a moment to visit Our Village Network’s page, give them a LIKE and FOLLOW, and share their mission with your friends. You never know who might need their support or who might be inspired to lend a hand.

We say it all the time: It takes a village. And when local organizations support one another, connect resources, and show up for our neighbors, that village becomes a whole lot stronger. đź’™

Let’s show Our Village Network some Kenosha love!

Parents, teachers, employers, coaches and neighbors all have a role to play.
