Welcome Back to all of our Whittier Wildcats! We are excited to begin another year! There have been several communications through ParentSquare regarding all our changes! *****Please check your ParentSquare for all the detailed information regarding drop off on the first day, as it is different than drop off routine for the year!! ************
Our Morning drop off routine for the year is listed below. All vehicle drop off occurs on the north side of the building using our main parking lot. Our doors open at 6:55 am. Students can not be dropped off prior to that time. You will see staff in yellow vests and safety patrol students in the parking lot directing traffic. Please be sure to drive slowly and follow the directions of staff.
1. When entering the parking lot, you will stay to the right and take a right turn. Cars need to stay to the far right (near the fence line). The left lane needs to be kept open for breakfast traffic (only until 6:55!). Cars will loop around to the west end of the lot. There will be a staff member in this area directing traffic. Please watch for this person and follow their directions.
2. Students who are purchasing breakfast may start at 6:45
3. The south side of the building (playground) is for bus drop off ONLY. Once all busses have dropped off and left the lot, we will close the gate.
4. Please pull as far forward as possible - watching the staff that are directing traffic. All cars will stop and safety patrol will open the car door for students to exit the car. Parents- please stay in the car.
5. All cars stay in place until staff indicate the line should start moving again. This is to ensure that we have no students between cars or in the line of traffic. Once the staff member signals for cars to start moving again, cars will proceed to the exit.
6. During morning drop off, cars can only take a right out of the Whittier parking lot. This is to keep cars moving and reduce the possibilities of crashes in front of the school. DO NOT pull into our neighbors drives to do a U-turn. DO NOT do a U-turn on Cooper Road. Simply continue down Cooper Road to 85th Place. Turn left on 85th Place to 48th Ave. Turn left on 48th Ave, and you are right back on 85th St.
7. Drop Off occurs from 6:55-7:10 am. Please have patience with us all the first couple of weeks while everyone learns the routine. We have found that after about two weeks, it flows very quickly, and drop off takes less than 10 minutes.
Resist the urge to come early! When people come early and line up in the parking lot, it prevents staff from being able to park and get in the building to receive your children.
