Reminder - 2027/28 Play Reading Applications are still being accepted!
This application is for individuals interested in being a member of the Lakeside Players Play Reading Committee. This group will be responsible for selecting our 2027-2028 mainstage theatre season. The deadline to submit this application will be November 1st, 2026.
The committee will consist of 5-7 people chosen by the play reading committee chair, Chynna Chung, with the intent of representing as many different roles and voices in the LSP community as possible. We encourage actors, directors, choreographers, musicians, technical theatre crew, donors, and regular patrons to apply. Other factors involved in the selection process will be a balance of experience level, age, gender, and other demographics in order to attempt to emulate our community as a whole. Having many voices ensures that our seasons are as strong and diverse as our community is! We invite you to only share information you’re comfortable with in the questions below. You are not required to disclose any information that you would rather keep private.
If chosen, you must either already be a Lakeside Players active member or agree to become a member in order to serve on the committee. Beginning in November and culminating in March, committee members will be expected to commit approximately 5 hours per week to the following activities:
- Researching and proposing scripts
- Reading/watching assigned plays and musicals
- Evaluating scripts to align with what is appropriate and in the best interest of our theatre
- Meeting (in-person or virtually!) as a group to discuss options (1-2 monthly meetings based on the group’s availability once chosen)
This probably sounds like a lot of work, and it is! But it's such an important way to serve the Lakeside Players community and help shape our future together. Also, who doesn’t want to read lots of plays and talk about theatre with other theatre people? If it sounds like your idea of a good time, you're probably perfect for the job and we would love to hear from you no matter what your background or experience level is!
