๐Ÿ“œ A Legacy Worth Celebrating: The History of Eureka Lodge No. 170 ๐Ÿ”ท๐ŸŸจ

Every great institution has a story, and Eureka Lodge No. 170 has a story rooted in vision, perseverance, and unwavering brotherhood.

In 1948, Dr. Lon M. Tillmon recognized the need to strengthen Prince Hall Freemasonry in Kansas Cityโ€™s Second Masonic District. Through determination and leadership, he recruited 25 men through the G.B. Key Club, men who would ultimately become Master Masons and help establish a lasting legacy.

Then, on July 15, 1949, Eureka Lodge No. 170 officially received its Charter. From that day forward, the Lodge has continued to grow in membership, leadership, ritualistic excellence, and community service.

Throughout its history, Eureka Lodge has:
๐Ÿ”น Built a strong financial foundation through wise stewardship.
๐Ÿ”น Increased membership and attendance through active engagement.
๐Ÿ”น Adopted and fostered a lasting partnership with Elect Ladies Chapter No. 15, Order of the Eastern Star.
๐Ÿ”น Created traditions that strengthened fellowship, including annual picnics, Motherโ€™s Day Breakfasts, and the Annual Thanksgiving Feast.
๐Ÿ”น Invested in ritual excellence by developing its own instructors and training future leaders.
๐Ÿ”น Produced distinguished Grand Lodge Officers who have served the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Missouri with honor and distinction.

What stands out most isnโ€™t just the milestonesโ€”itโ€™s the commitment to the timeless principles of Charity, Brotherly Love, Truth, and Fellowship. These values have united generations of Brothers and Sisters, creating friendships and memories that have lasted a lifetime.

As someone who is blessed to be part of this historic Lodge, it fills me with pride to know that I stand on the shoulders of visionary men whose work continues to impact our community today.

Hereโ€™s to honoring 77 years of excellence, preserving our history, and ensuring that future generations continue to say with pride:

โ€œI am a Brother of Eureka Lodge No. 170.โ€

Happy Charter Day, Eureka! May the Great Architect of the Universe continue to bless our Lodge, our members, and the work we do in our communities.

๐ŸŽ‰ Happy 77th Charter Day, Eureka Lodge No. 170! ๐ŸŽ‰

Today, we proudly celebrate 77 years of Brotherhood, Leadership, and Service since the Grand Lodge issued the Charter to Eureka Lodge No. 170 on July 15, 1949.

What began with the vision of Dr. Lon M. Tillmon, who recruited 25 men through the G.B. Key Club and petitioned for a new lodge in Kansas Cityโ€™s Second Masonic District, has grown into one of the most respected and influential lodges in the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Missouri.

For over seven decades, Eureka Lodge has:
๐Ÿ”น Built a legacy of ritualistic excellence and Masonic education.
๐Ÿ”น Strengthened fellowship through community traditions and family programs.
๐Ÿ”น Established a lasting partnership with Elect Ladies Chapter No. 15, Order of the Eastern Star.
๐Ÿ”น Produced distinguished Grand Lodge leaders who have faithfully served this Jurisdiction.
๐Ÿ”น Continued to inspire generations of men through charity, unity, and brotherly love.

As a proud member of Eureka Lodge No. 170, I am honored to stand on the shoulders of the great men who came before us. Their sacrifices, leadership, and unwavering commitment laid the foundation upon which we continue to build.

May we never forget our rich history while embracing the responsibility of shaping our future. Let us continue to be a light in our community, faithful to our principles, and dedicated to making good men even better.

Happy 77th Charter Day to every Brother who has worn the apron of Eureka Lodge No. 170. Hereโ€™s to honoring our past, strengthening our present, and inspiring our future.

Eureka Strong. Tradition Proud. Future Bound.
