It was so much fun joining Commissioner Jermaine Howard to visit with the students in the summer youth program with Downtown Shareholders- we answered their questions about what it's like to serve the community in elected office.

🎉Juneteenth Parade and Celebration - June 13th
(UPDATED LOCATION DETAILS)

This year's Juneteenth Parade will kick-off at 9AM from 5th and Cleveland Ave. and will proceed to Washington Blvd. in downtown Kansas City, Kansas (KCK).

Community members are invited to line up along the route and cheer on the fun as registered parade floats and performers march.

After a fun-filled morning at the parade, residents are invited to Memorial Hall (600 N. 7th Street Trafficway, KCK) from 6:00PM - 9:30PM for the FREE Juneteenth community celebration. The UG and Community Partners are excited to have this year's celebration Emcee be KSHB 41 Reporter Rachel Henderson.

Guests can expect tons of family friendly games, great local vendors, drill team performances, FREE food and food trucks for purchase as well as live entertainment on the main stage from Grammy nominated singer LeVelle, John Hudson, Bri Davis, and J. Celebration attendees are encouraged to arrive early to receive special Juneteenth giveaways and find the perfect spot with their lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the celebration fun.

REMEMBER each crawler (or team of crawlers) will receive the name of the bar to start their crawl at packet pick-up. This year we anticipate a record number of crawlers, so it’s more important than ever to start at your assigned bar so we don’t overwhelm our staff at our 11 participating bars.
