Good morning! We may have been a little quiet, but we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes and are excited to officially announce our inaugural Sabre New Journey Scholarship recipient, Ms. Nevaeh Williams! πŸŽ‰

This scholarship was made possible through your spirit wear purchases with PTSA and the support of our community partner, Thula B. Real Estate - Powered by Juncture

We are incredibly excited to bring this scholarship opportunity to life and look forward to continuing to celebrate Sabres as they begin their new journeys beyond high school. πŸ’™

As we begin Black History Month, we take time to recognize the many individuals and moments that have helped shape our history. Black Americans have made lasting contributions in education, science, arts, athletics, public service, and beyond. This month is an opportunity to learn, reflect, and celebrate the stories that continue to inspire progress and strengthen our communities.

A special holiday message from Principal Mr Malone:

Twas the night before winter break, and all through the halls, Not a locker was stirring, no footsteps at all. The finals were finished, the classrooms now still, As the building grew quiet atop every hill.

With assessments completed and grades soon to post,Our students have given their very utmost. Now books are set down and alarms set aside,As a well-earned break opens its doors far and wide.

After weeks of focus, effort, and determination, we are proud of the hard work our students have shown throughout the semester. With finals behind us, the halls of Sumner Academy have grown quiet as students and staff step away to rest, recharge, and spend time with those most important to them.

This winter break offers a valuable pause as we prepare for the start of a new semester, one filled with renewed energy, fresh goals, and continued academic excellence. Our staff is already looking ahead, ready to welcome students back and support them in the work to come.

We wish all Sumner Academy families a safe, restful, and joyful winter break. We look forward to seeing our students return on Tuesday, January 6th, ready for the next chapter of the school year.

Until then, enjoy this time of rest and reflection. We are grateful to be part of such a dedicated and supportive school community.

Happy Holidays πŸŽ„
