Awesome Ambitions is a 501c (3) mentoring and college preparatory program for high school girls in the metropolitan area. Our purpose is to help our girls set goals for their future, help them define their own success, to plan how to achieve that success and to help them believe that they are capable of accomplishing and deserving of that success. We help build confidence and self-esteem, we stres

s the importance of getting a good education and explore college and career paths. We meet the first Saturday in each month which includes community service and team building projects, college visits and field trips. Our 2014 Awesome Ambitions graduates were awarded over $70,000 in scholarships for college.

For nearly 30 years, our volunteers have been the heart of our mission—mentoring, encouraging, supporting events, sharing expertise, and helping young women realize their full potential.

Now, we're looking for passionate individuals who want to make a lasting impact in the lives of teen girls throughout the Kansas City community.

On Friday, April 24th, our Awesome girls wrapped up the school year with a powerful session on body positivity.
A heartfelt thank you to Shawna Shipley-Gates for leading such a meaningful and impactful conversation. Moments like these continue to pour into our young ladies and remind them of their value.
This marked our final experience for the school year, and what a great way to end on a high note!
