What does $50 provide through Project Pay-it-Forward?

🍽️ Five nourishing meals
đź’› Five neighbors cared for
🏠 Five moments of belonging

Every token helps welcome someone to the table at Thelma’s Kitchen with dignity and care.

A special thank you to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City for their generous $10,000 challenge gift! If our community can raise the first $15,000, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City will contribute the remaining $10,000 needed to help us reach our goal.

One of our REVEAL Program case managers, DeAnte', said it best: a token meal is a celebration.

For our clients, a meal at Thelma's Kitchen represents more than food. It marks a step forward — completing intake, meeting with a therapist, working with a case manager, or overcoming barriers on the journey toward stability and self-sufficiency.

And after putting in that hard work, clients are welcomed into Thelma's Kitchen for a warm, nutritious meal in a space where they are seen, valued, and cared for.

When you support Project Pay-it-Forward, you're doing more than providing a meal. You're helping neighbors meet basic needs, celebrate progress, and experience dignity, care, and connection along the way.

Our goal is to provide 2,500 meals through Thelma's Kitchen's meal token program. Better yet, if our community raises the first $15,000, our generous partners at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City will contribute the remaining $10,000 needed to reach our goal.

Will you help us unlock the challenge gift? Give today: donate.rs3101.org/ge/ppif

Project Pay-it-Forward is all about making sure our neighbors have access to nourishing meals served with dignity, care, and connection đź’›

We’re working to raise $25,000 to support Thelma’s Kitchen’s meal token program — and thanks to a generous $10,000 challenge gift from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, every donation can go even further. If our community raises the first $15,000, Blue KC will help us cross the finish line.

Every $10 provides one meal. Click here to donate and help us feed our community: https://donate.rs3101.org/ge/ppif

Project Pay-it-Forward starts TODAY đź’›

From now through June 10, we’re working to raise $25,000 to provide 2,500 nourishing meals for neighbors in need through Thelma’s Kitchen’s meal token program. Every $10 gift provides one meal for someone in our community.

A huge thank you to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City for their incredible $10,000 challenge gift! If we can raise the first $15,000 together, Blue KC will provide the remaining $10,000 needed to help us reach our goal.

For many of our neighbors, these meals provide more than nourishment — they provide dignity, care, and connection.

Mental health matters every month, but especially this month. đź’š

At RS, our REVEAL Program provides trauma-informed mental health support, case management, and resources for neighbors navigating difficult seasons of life.

We’re so thankful for these three amazing REVEAL interns who help create spaces of compassion, dignity, and healing in our community every day.

Everyone deserves support. Everyone deserves care. đź’š

Reconciliation Services is honored to be selected as a United Way of Greater Kansas City Impact 100 organization!

This investment in our mission provides unrestricted funding and new opportunities to expand our impact alongside United Way as we continue transforming dividing lines into gathering places across Kansas City.

We’re deeply grateful for this partnership and for the shared commitment to building a stronger, more resilient community where every person is welcomed with dignity, care, and opportunity.

Yesterday, the DEMDACO team showed up for our neighbors in a BIG way đź’™

As part of their Giving Day, more than 80 volunteers assembled and delivered 800 hygiene kits for Reconciliation Services clients — each one filled with essential items that help bring dignity, care, and support to our community.

Our Community Engagement & Insights Manager, Mike Marcus, spent the day alongside the team as they packed kits, boxed them up, and loaded them into the van headed back to RS. We’re so grateful for DEMDACO’s generosity and partnership — these kits will make a real difference for the individuals and families we serve every day.
