Every week we make our trip to Costco to stock up on food and essentials for the guys at Kahana House and Concord House. Looking at these carts, it’s easy to see how much food it takes to help keep two houses running!

I’m incredibly grateful to be in a position where we can provide for the men in our program and make sure they have what they need. Recovery is about so much more than just staying sober—it’s about building stability, community, and a foundation for a better future.

A huge thank you to everyone who supports Artist Helping the Homeless and helps make these weekly trips possible. Your support directly impacts the lives of the men we serve every day.

Today we celebrated John Tyler’s birthday! 🎉

I’m truly grateful to have John as part of the Artists Helping the Homeless (AHH) staff. Since joining us on 12/16/25, he has shown tremendous growth, determination, and commitment to his recovery and personal goals. It has been inspiring to watch his progress, and we are all incredibly proud of how far he has come.

Tonight, we took him out to Joy Wok for dinner to celebrate his special day. It was a great evening filled with good food, laughter, and gratitude.

Happy Birthday, John! We are blessed to have you on this journey with us and look forward to seeing all the great things ahead for you. 🎂🎈🎉

🚌 There's s a FREE bus running from Overland Park and Lenexa straight to KCI, but so far, barely anyone is riding it.

Johnson County launched a free airport shuttle this month, with buses leaving the Overland Park Convention Center and Lenexa City Center every 30 minutes from early morning to late evening. No parking fees. No Uber. Just a free ride to the airport.

In its first week, the county says, unofficially, about 18 to 35 riders per day used the service, but they hope to see those numbers pick up as more people learn about it.

Another blessed Sunday in the books. Today we fed the homeless at the park with the support of Martha and her team and the turnout was incredible. We served food until we ran out completely, and it was amazing to see so many people come together to help those in need. I’m truly grateful to be part of something that allows us to give back to our community every week.

Afterward, we enjoyed some good food and then headed to our Sunday night NA meeting at Church of the Resurrection Brookside. The topic was staying on fire for our recovery and making sure we give recovery our best effort every day. It was a powerful reminder that recovery requires commitment, honesty, and action.

So grateful for the fellowship, the opportunity to serve, and the continued growth I see in so many lives. One day at a time. ❤️🙏

Today we celebrated two special birthdays at Kahana House! 🎉🎂

Happy 29th Birthday to Daniel and Happy 30th Birthday to JP! We enjoyed some great cake and ice cream while spending time together and celebrating another year of life, growth, and friendship.

It’s always a blessing to gather together, share some laughs, and make memories. Wishing both of these amazing guys a year filled with happiness, success, and continued growth.

Today was one of those days that reminds me how blessed I am.

We started the day after church at the park serving meals to those in need. The turnout was incredible—the line seemed never-ending. Seeing so many people come together to help and support our community fills my heart with gratitude. I’m truly thankful that we have the opportunity to do this every Sunday.

Later, we attended an NA meeting at Church of the Resurrection Brookside. The topic was the Triangle of Self-Obsession—fear, resentment, and anger. It led to some powerful and honest conversations about the things we all struggle with and the ways we continue to grow.

I left feeling inspired by the courage, honesty, and growth I see in our AHH family. Watching people work through challenges, support one another, and continue moving forward in recovery is something special.

Grateful for a day of service, fellowship, recovery, and growth. ❤️ AMEN!

Today I got the chance to check out Jake’s new house, and I couldn’t be more proud of him. The house is beautiful, and it’s awesome to see all of his hard work paying off.

There’s nothing better than seeing my AHH team reach their goals and build something for themselves. Wishing Jake many years of happiness and great memories in his new home. Proud of you, brother! Amen!

Had such a great time celebrating Dave and Danielle at their baby shower today! Everything was absolutely beautiful. The cake looked amazing, the food was delicious, and the decorations were perfect. You could really see all the love and hard work that went into making the day so special.

Wishing Dave and Danielle all the best as they prepare to welcome their little one into the world. Excited for this next chapter in their lives! Always wonderful to see my AHH team continue growth in life. Amen!

We are always better as a community when service agencies come together to collaborate, share resources, and support each other's causes. It’s through this kind of collective dedication that we can truly provide the best possible support for our most vulnerable neighbors.
