In case you missed it:

The National Congress of Black Women, Inc. – Kansas City Chapter held a Metro-wide Organizing Rally, From the Block to the Ballot last month.

At the organizing event, individuals, families and groups learned more about the August 4th Ballot Questions, registered to vote, updated voter registration, prepared for the election, and were able get involved with the collective work of the campaign.

From the Block to the Ballot was a FREE event with a host of speakers lined up including local leaders, special guests, music and spoken-word entertainment, DJ, Free Food, Food Trucks, Prizes, FREE Swag, community and business vendors and fun activities for the kids.

The National Congress of Black Women, inc. -- Kansas City Chapter is proud to award $1,000 scholarships toward tuition and education essentials to help students pursue higher education and achieve their academic goals.

Application Deadline is September 13th, 2026!

Eligibility Criteria for 2026 VIBE Brilliantly Scholarship:
a) Resident of Missouri or Kansas.
b) Minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
c) High school senior (enrolling Full-Time in college or vocational studies in Spring/Fall 2027) OR Non-traditional adult students (age 21 or older) enrolling or already enrolled in Full-Time coursework for Spring/Fall 2027.

Required Documents:
● Completed application (Note: Incomplete or late applications will not be considered)
● One letter of recommendation from a teacher, advisor, employer, or community member
● High school or college transcript
● Personal Essay (500 word maximum) addressing the following questions:
o Why do you feel you should receive the NCBW scholarship?
o What are your academic and career goals?
o How will the scholarship help you achieve your goals?
