Many hands, light work, and breakfast is included. 🙌

United Way of Greater Kansas City () is looking for 500+ volunteers for CommUNITY Fest presented by G.E.H.A () on Friday, November 6 at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas.

United Way says it is planning its largest one day volunteer event yet, a morning of service benefiting more than 50 nonprofit partners across the metro.

The details:
📅 Friday, November 6, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
📍 Memorial Hall, 600 N. 7th Street Trafficway, KCK
🥐 Registration and breakfast from 8 to 9:15 a.m.
🚌 Volunteer onsite, or head out to a nonprofit partner's site across the metro
🎟️ Free, open to everyone, and kids are welcome

Where volunteers are needed:
🌱 Cultivate KC (), weeding, mulching and improving community garden beds
🔨 Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City (), organizing inventory, restocking and helping customers at ReStore
🧥 Hope Faith (), organizing and prepping the winter clothing closet

Onsite at Memorial Hall, volunteers can meet nonprofit partners and help with hands-on projects like kit packing and bracelet making. Offsite volunteers check in at Memorial Hall first, then travel to their site by bus or car.

At last year's CommUNITY Fest, United Way says volunteers with more than 70 organizations wrapped 18,000 diapers for HappyBottoms () and sorted more than 3,500 pounds of food at Kanbe's Markets ().

We recently hosted our Tocqueville Society members for an exclusive event, The Missing Piece, presented by Delta Air Lines.

Members enjoyed an evening of networking, followed by a conversation with Ebony Reed, author of Fifteen Cents on the Dollar, and gained valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities facing working families in our community.

We're grateful for our Tocqueville Society members who invest and mobilize financial resources, connect with people and organizations tackling community challenges, and encourage real-time solutions that advance the United Way mission.
