Our Spot KC The 1st LGBTQ+ specific program in KC dedicated to supporting access to stable & sustainable housing

We are the first program in Kansas City dedicated to serving the LGBTQ+ community specifically. As such we have the ability to approach the problem from a culturally informed and inclusive angle. We equip LGBTQ+ people and their families with the tools and knowledge necessary to reach their goals of stable and sustainable housing.

Need housing help? We’re here for you today 🏠

Walk-in housing assessments are happening this morning from 10AM-12PM. No appointment needed. Just come in and our team will sit down with you, talk through your situation, and help connect you to housing resources. We prioritize assessments for those who are sleeping outside/in a car, fleeing domestic/sexual violence, and veterans.

Since we were closed Monday, this is the only walk-in window this week, so come by if you can. First come, first served. Bring any ID you have.

Here’s what’s happening at Our Spot this week 🍁

Monday we’re closed for Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Take a minute to learn whose land you’re on and support Indigenous-led work in our community.

Tuesday through Friday, we’ve got donation drop-off, walk-in housing assessments, the $0 Boutique, EQUAL Trans Support Group, and Needle in a Gay Stack to close out the week.

Heads up: since we’re closed Monday, Thursday morning is the only time for walk-in housing assessments this week.

Happy National Coming Out Day! 🏳️‍🌈

To everyone who came out decades ago and helped pave the way, to everyone who came out this year, this month, or this morning, and to everyone who isn't there yet: we see you and we celebrate you. Your story is yours, and you get to tell it on your own timeline.

Coming out happens once or a hundred times, and Our Spot KC is here for all of it, 365 days a year. We offer housing, financial assistance, support and social groups, basic needs, community events, professional training, community advocacy, and more for LGBTQ+ Kansas Citians.

Follow along for upcoming groups and events, share this with someone who needs the reminder, and come find your spot with us. 💛
