ALL BARK NO BITE !!"
Our 2026 MPF FUNDRAISER (please click on video above. We think u will love these short video's of Coach Pettine and his views on CBW football. There are about 15 of them and we will be rotating them ! ...so don't miss them ! )
Former PLAYERS, COACHES, MANAGERS, CHEERLEADERS, FANS & SUPPORTERS of the Mike Pettine Foundation 501(c)(3) & CB WEST Football:
As President of the Mike Pettine Foundation, I want to THANK everyone who has helped keep the great memories of Coach Mike Pettine ALIVE! The Pettine Foundation Board, with your generous support, has been very active in the community since our inception 8 years ago. We’ve hosted a Memorial Banquet honoring Coach Pettine. We’ve organized 7 Golf outings. We’ve raised over $100k for the Mike Pettine statue and personalized bricks erected at War Memorial Field. We contributed financially to the signage across from War Memorial field renaming the practice football, soccer, and tennis courts ... THE COACH PETTINE SPORTS COMPLEX. We’ve helped the CBW Football team & Coach Rob Rowan by paying for team dinners before playoff games & helping with buying weight room equipment.
We've continued what Coach Pettine started in the early 90's by giving a senior boy & girl athlete each a $1500 scholarship to help w their first year of college. This year (2026) we added another arm to our MPF reach where we will look to help someone in the Community. This year we gave $500 to a former football manager who needed help.
Lastly, we built a 1st class MPF website and we digitally archived Coach Pettine’s trove of game films from 1967-2001. That archive is now available for viewing via the MPF website (mikepettinefoundation.org) or our YouTube Channel. Its amazing !!
We are incredibly proud of the accomplishments of the MPF over the last 8 years. However, when we established the MP Foundation, we had set a primary goal to fully fund the Mike Pettine Scholarship at $2,500 per student each year and we HOPE your generosity would help get us there through this fundraiser.
Coach Pettine’s goal was to produce football teams that would WIN and do it with class. Those teams were always comprised of players who would strive to reach their maximum potential not just every season, but every individual PLAY! Coach strove to develop high character men who would make great Fathers, great Employees, great Citizens and take with them that unending willpower to never give up and strive for perfection in life’s challenges.
There was nothing that made Coach Mike Pettine prouder than to see his former players doing well as they got older. Coach Pettine had always believed in service to others, that commitment to being part of something bigger is a core tenet of his coaching philosophy. While Coach could recall details of wins, he could also proudly rattle off the schools his players attended to continue their education. Coach’s belief in the transformative value of education was visible in meetings with coaches from D1 to D3, countless letters of recommendation, and securing scholarship dollars on behalf of his players.
Since Coach Pettine passing, the Mike Pettine Foundation is now carrying that torch and striving to award $2500 for a CBW male & female athlete each year. We are currently awarding $1500 to assist with their first-year tuition. We NEED YOUR HELP and have set a goal of raising $25,000 for the scholarship fund. You can be sure Coach Pettine will be smiling if you donate $25 or $2500. Let’s all get involved in Mike Pettine’s honor and CRUSH OUR GOAL by raising $25,000 in Coach’s name!
On behalf of the Foundation, we invite you to participate in our 4th MPF Fundraiser. We are calling it “ALL BARK NO BITE!” If you played for Coach Pettine, were a Parent or a Fan, you knew him as a perfectionist who used a million different motivational tools to get his team ready to perform.
When I bump into former players and we start sharing stories, inevitably we talk about Practices, Games & Monday night film sessions. One of the defining experiences of the Pettine era was a blowout win Friday night followed by a Monday night film session reality check as only Coach Pettine could offer.
Rewatching these games on our web site I can picture Coach zeroing in with his laser pointer on some unsuspecting player on the backside of a play.
"Who is that?"
"That's Me"
"WHO'S ME? That's not what I want !"
And then the punchline, "Your all Bark with no Bite !"
Nothing showcased Coach’s drive for perfection more than these legendary Monday night film sessions. We as players were always on edge no matter what the winning score was for CB/CBW. You didn’t dare tell any of the coaches you played well after the game as you knew that Coach Pettine would find many, many things you did wrong. When the lights went out and the film started ALL OF US got lower and lower in our seats hoping to avoid Coach Pettine’s oncoming wrath.
That was bad enough, waiting in the dark wondering when Pettine would single you out, but nothing compared to when Pettine screamed “turn the lights on!” He would stand and address you individually with “what the heck are you doing here ? ...that's not what I want ! ...You weren't ready to play !"
Then the next 4 days of practice was HELL !!! Pettine would ride u and watch every thing u did. He was making sure you would show up and give your best effort that Friday night. When Friday night came Pettine would be sure to continue to let u know he was watching and if u tied your sleeves up or has high socks to your knees he would flip ! "there u go...trying to look tough! U better bring the Bite this week !"
Coach Pettine was so special to ALL of US. His personality, his style, his hard nosed approach, love for his players, his genius coaching (where even today he would kick ass!) and his competitive fire made him a man we will never forgot.
We would like Coach Pettine’s Legacy to last forever, and we can do this with everyone’s support. Tax deductible donations can be made w the link below or the Pettine Foundation Website.
