Last Friday, we had our annual hotel outreach event. We were able to reach 17 Bucks County hotels and educate their staff on human trafficking. We know hotels are a hot spot for trafficking, and with the help of our amazing volunteers, we were able to arm hotel managers and staff with information to be a part of the solution and fight alongside us. The day was definitely a success!

Come join us for Hotel Outreach next Friday, October 18th from 8:45 am to 12:00 pm! We will be meeting at Falls Township Police Department for a morning briefing and coffee (8:45-9:00 am). Teams will be given all the materials needed to conduct Human Trafficking Outreach in hotels. The names of the hotels and routes will be given in advance. Each team will visit approximately 3-4 hotels, then back to Falls Township Police Department for a debriefing.

From We Are PACT: Today is World Tourism Day This year’s theme is Tourism and Peace.

When an individual travels to a different destination for the explicit purpose of sexually exploiting children, it is known as the Sexual Exploitation of Children in Travel and Tourism (SECTT)

SECTT can occur through domestic or international travel, and often involves the use of accommodation, transportation and other tourism-related services that facilitate contact with children. Federal law prohibits an American citizen or resident to travel to a foreign country with the intent to engage in any form of sexual conduct with a minor (anyone defined as under 18 years old).

The Sexual Exploitation of Children in Travel and Tourism is the opposite of Peace.

Just a reminder that BCAT will be holding our Hotel Outreach training tomorrow from 6-8:00 PM at the NOVA Jamison office. Educating hotel staff and arming them with information and appropriate actions to take in the event that they witness trafficking is an important way to engage in the work. Hotels are the frequent site of trafficking, and an educated and prepared staff could prove to be a critical intervention point for survivors. If you’re interested in doing hotel outreach with us, or just want to learn more, we’d love to have you!

This week BCAT had the privilege of attending and presenting at the Education for Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness Conference. Did you know children make up half the homeless population nationwide, and are at a huge risk for commercial sexual exploitation? All the more reason to get involved and end human trafficking.

We are excited to announce that our Hotel Outreach Training has been rescheduled for September 4th from 6:00-8:00 PM at the NOVA Jamison office. We know hotels and motels are frequently the settings of trafficking, so training hotel staff on what to look for, and how to respond if they do witness trafficking, could offer a critical intervention point for survivors.

In response to the viral TikTok about a man going to a massage parlor in Philly for a "happy ending," we would like to address the seriousness of this issue. Commercial sexual exploitation is often times portrayed as a victimless crime, something to be laughed at and brushed off. The reality is, women and young girls (or any individual) in illicit massage parlors, or other types of exploitative situations often face significant violence, emotional and physical threats.

Let’s take a moment to consider the victims on the other end of this joke. Let's honor their humanity, and fight for their wellbeing.

A big thanks to for partnering with us this weekend at the Moonlight Memories Car Show and helping us raise funds and awareness for survivors of human trafficking. We gave out lots of temporary tattoos, made great community connections, and had a blast!

Come see us this Saturday at the Moonlight Memories Car Show in Hatboro! We will be there from 5-10 PM. Many survivors are branded or given tattoos while in the life that act as a reminder of their trafficking experience. To address this, we are partnering with to help survivors in need of tattoo removals or coverups. Stop by for temporary tattoos and giveaways!

July 30th marks World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. BCAT invites everyone to take a moment and reflect on the importance of recognizing that all individuals deserve to live free from sexual violence. BCAT supports victims and aims to reduce the risk for sexual exploitation.
