Never forgotten

🔔 Today We Remember Walter D. Miller 🔔

Today, September 28th, we remember Walter D. Miller of the Croydon Fire Company, Station 11, who died in the line of duty on September 28, 1970, while responding on Box 11-34.

Walter answered the call to serve his community, and he made the ultimate sacrifice while doing so.

Fifty-six years later, his name remains a part of the history and legacy of the Croydon Fire Company. We continue to honor his service, remember his sacrifice, and keep his memory alive.

Today, we remember Walter.
Today, we remember his family.
Today, we remember his service.

Today marks 40 years since Bucks County Sheriff’s Deputies Thomas A. Bateman and George M. Warta Jr. lost their lives in the line of duty.

On September 22, 1986, Deputies Bateman and Warta were returning to their patrol area after completing a prisoner transport when they were killed in a traffic accident on Street Road in Warrington Township.

We continue to honor the two deputies who gave their lives in service to our community and remember the near decade of service each gave to the residents of Bucks County.

Today, we ask our community to join us in remembering Deputy Bateman and Deputy Warta, and to keep their families and former colleagues in your thoughts.
