Building safer schools starts with creating an environment where student well-being is a priority.

As part of SHINE Humanity’s Healthy School Initiative, a First Aid Orientation was conducted for teachers at both primary schools in Gharo. The session equipped teachers with practical knowledge on responding to common minor injuries and emergencies, along with the correct use of essential first-aid materials.

To strengthen emergency preparedness at the school level, each school also received a fully equipped first aid box, handed over to the respective Headmaster for use when needed.

Through initiatives like these, we continue to support schools in creating safer and healthier environments for children.

Across SHINE Humanity’s Community Outreach Program, our CHWs visit families in underserved communities to screen, counsel, follow up, and connect patients with the care they need. But paper-based reporting can make it harder to track those visits, referrals, and follow-ups efficiently.

We want to change that.

By equipping CHWs with tablets, patient information can be recorded digitally at the doorstep, even without internet access, and synced later with SHINE Humanity’s Electronic Medical Record system. With each CHW reaching approximately 1,000 family members, one tablet can help create a more connected journey from a household visit to continued care.

We’re inviting individuals and organizations to support us in taking community healthcare from paper to digital.

Across rural Sindh, mental health struggles are common but rarely spoken about — often dismissed, misunderstood, or simply out of reach. We sat down to answer a few key questions on why this matters and what we're doing about it.

On World Rabies Day, SHINE Humanity joins the global effort to raise awareness about rabies and the importance of timely prevention and treatment.

Rabies is preventable, yet it continues to claim thousands of lives each year. Through our Rabies Program, we provide post-exposure care to dog-bite patients, including wound care and vaccination under the supervision of trained healthcare professionals.

Every patient treated is a reminder that timely care can save a life.

As monsoon season approaches, communities near Keenjhar Lake face a real and recurring risk of malaria - especially in low-income, rural areas where access to healthcare is already limited. Instead of waiting to treat cases as they come, SHINE Humanity took a preventative approach.

Our team carried out our second mosquito net distribution drive, reaching families in Abdullah Gandro village and a neighboring locality near Chilya. We identified the households most at risk, those closest to the lake, with young children, pregnant women, or no prior access to nets, and made sure they were reached first.

Because at SHINE, healthcare is about more than treating illness. It begins with reaching people before they are in need - protecting families, preventing illness, and giving every community the chance to live a healthier life.
