Building Tomorrow Building Tomorrow supports community-powered learning, with a vision of literacy and numeracy for all children. buildingtomorrow.org/holidays

Building Tomorrow improves access to child-friendly, community-supported schools by providing an inclusive, quality education for underserved children in East Africa. Through our Thriving Schools program, we deploy Building Tomorrow Fellows who recruit and train Community Education Volunteers, together bringing out-of-school children into the classroom while working with school leadership to ensure access to a quality, inclusive school environment. We also work hand-in-hand with local communities, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education to construct new primary schools where no formal primary school exists. By the end of 2020, Building Tomorrow will directly impact a total of 280,000 students by improving their access to inclusive, quality education, bring back to school over 60,000 children, train nearly 6,000 Community Education Volunteers and construct 100 primary-level schools

Today, something really special happened. A young man who's been a long time champion for primary education in East Africa, once again passionately supported in a big way.

Connor won $1.2M in today's College GameDay and Pat McAfee field goal kick and pledged half the winnings to BT. Connor, we are beyond words and so grateful for your big heart and generosity.

Connor's support will help 42,857 children learn to read, write and do basic math in East Africa!📚

We’re continuing our celebration with an exciting new component of Roots to Rise: phonics!

Phonics is a powerful tool for helping learners unlock fluent reading and an efficient approach to literacy instruction that can help children build foundational skills faster.

So, what exactly is phonics? Why does it matter? And how did we introduce it into Roots to Rise?

Swipe through to learn more about the tool and how we piloted its integration into our programming last year. ➡️

How are you celebrating ? Let us know in the comments!
