Leadership Indianapolis Leadership Indianapolis affects transformative change by building and mobilizing a robust pipeline of

LI educates, inspires, connects and mobilizes community leaders to serve and strengthen greater Indianapolis. We currently offer four core community leadership programs; Civic Boot Camp, LEAD and Opportunity Indianapolis, and the SKL Series. We’re so proud to celebrate Rebecca Hutton, our President & CEO at Leadership Indianapolis, on being named one of Indianapolis Business Journal’s 2026 Women of Influence! 🎉

Rebecca leads with vision, thoughtfulness, and authenticity. She has a remarkable ability to see the bigger picture, connect the dots, and understand how one decision can create a ripple effect across our community.

But what I appreciate most is how deeply she cares about people, about leadership, and about making Indianapolis stronger by helping each of us become better.

We’ve been up to something new at Leadership Indianapolis, and we’re excited to share a sneak peek.

We’re all about collaboration, so we’re collaborating with a eight-piece Latin jazz ensemble to create a new leadership workshop. This past weekend, we put it to the test at The Jazz Kitchen.

Together, we explored what a great jazz ensemble can teach us about navigating change, staying aligned, and performing at our best, together.

Through live music, audience participation, and conversation, we’re exploring how talented individuals:

🎶 Listen closely to one another
🎶 Adapt in the moment
🎶 Share leadership
🎶 Take risks
🎶 Respond when something unexpected happens
🎶 Stay connected to a shared direction

We can’t wait to bring this experience to our partners and see where the music, and the conversation, takes us.

LEAD is designed to give participants opportunities to do more than simply hear about leadership skills.

You'll put them into practice.

Through interactive activities, discussions, case studies, and exercises, participants will apply new strategies to real-world situations and challenges.

Some of the best leadership lessons come from learning how others have navigated their own challenges and opportunities.

Each LEAD session will include a conversation with a leader from our community, offering participants the opportunity to hear firsthand about their leadership experiences and lessons learned.

But the learning doesn't stop there.

LEAD also brings together emerging and established leaders from across our community to learn alongside one another, share perspectives, and build meaningful connections.

We'll also explore one of leadership's most important—and sometimes intimidating—skills: networking. Including strategies for networking that work for introverts.

A big thank you to Nine13 for hosting us for day two of Opportunity Indianapolis!

As part of the two-day program, participants explored some of the issues and opportunities shaping our community. At Nine13, one of the topics we dug into was The Role of Sports, learning how sports can contribute to economic development and community growth and discovering ways Indiana Sports Corp is engaging and creating impact across Central Indiana.

We’re especially grateful to the Nine13 team for giving us a tour of their impressive facilities and sharing more about the many ways they’re serving and strengthening our community. It was a great opportunity to see their work in action—and there’s a lot to discover!

Nine13sports is a nonprofit organization that uses the bicycle as a powerful educational tool. Through hands-on, experience-based learning, they promote physical and mental wellness while introducing students to bicycle history, mechanics, and tools.

But there’s more. Nine13Logistics provides scalable logistics solutions that serve communities and partners across Central Indiana.

A great setting can make a meaningful learning experience even more memorable.

The Cabaret provided a beautiful backdrop for day one of Opportunity Indianapolis, where participants spent the day exploring some of the issues, opportunities, and organizations shaping our community.

It was especially fitting that our conversation on The Arts Landscape took place in a venue that plays an important role in bringing the arts to Indianapolis. The experience extended beyond our meeting space, too. Gallery 924, operated by the Indy Arts Council and located in the same building, offers exhibitions, special programs, and events that connect artists and the community.

Thank you to The Cabaret for hosting us and providing such an inspiring space for learning, conversation, and connection.
