Kids’ Voice helped the Walton family navigate difficult moments while advocating for what was best for Bentley every step of the way.

“There were times when we wanted to throw in the towel,” Kimberly admits, reflecting on the stress their family experienced during a two-year legal process.

“Without that kind of advocacy,” Kimberly says, “I could see how someone could maybe break under the pressure.”

Today, Bentley is a happy and cherished part of the Walton family, their forever son.

“They’re for the kids, not about everybody else. They’re for the kids.”

That’s how John describes his family’s experience with Kids’ Voice during the adoption of their son, Bentley.

Families navigating the child welfare system often face complicated and emotional challenges. Kids’ Voice advocates help children and caregivers understand the process while making sure each child’s best interests stay at the center.

Starting over isn’t easy, especially for young people navigating adulthood without a strong support system.

After aging out of care, Kids’ Voice older youth Rachel moved to Colorado for a fresh start. But one major challenge remained: getting her belongings across the country so she could truly begin her next chapter. That’s when community connections stepped in.

Thanks to a connection made by the Kids’ Voice Older Youth Initiatives team and the generosity of Doug Robinson and the leadership team at Wheaton World Wide Moving, Rachel’s belongings were safely shipped to her new home in Colorado.

Acts of kindness like this may seem small, but they can mean everything to a young person building a new life. Having familiar belongings, personal memories, and the essentials to settle in can bring comfort, stability, and hope during a major transition.

We’re grateful to Wheaton World Wide Moving for helping make this possible and for showing how community support can make a lasting impact for youth served by Kids’ Voice.

Pictured is Doug Robinson alongside Rachel’s belongings as they prepared to make the move to Colorado.

Kids’ Voice recently had the opportunity to spend time with a group from Salesforce and share more about our mission. During the visit, the team heard from one of their colleagues about her experience serving as a volunteer advocate with Kids’ Voice. Our staff also shared a deeper look into how consistent, caring advocacy can help change outcomes for children involved in the legal system.

The highlight of the morning for the group was filling out graduation cards with encouraging and inspirational messages for youth served by Kids’ Voice who are reaching this important milestone in their lives 🎓💬💌 Taking a moment to show encouragement, care, and excitement for youth has a real, tangible impact.

We love any opportunity to connect with community members who want to learn more what Kids’ Voice is doing. If your team or organization is interested in a similar service project or would like to learn more about our mission, we would love to connect.

🧡 We protect children and family relationships. 🧡

May is National Supervised Visitation Month, a time to recognize the important role supervised parenting time plays in supporting safe, healthy family connections.

At Kids' Voice, our Supervised Parenting Time (SPT) program helps foster healthy relationships between children and their non-custodial parents. By providing a safe and neutral environment, we help reduce the sense of loss and instability children may experience during family transitions.

Each year, we supervise hundreds of visits at our facility, making SPT one of Indiana’s leading abuse and neglect prevention programs.

The physical and emotional safety of the children we serve is always our top priority. We are committed to creating a welcoming, family-friendly environment where children and families feel supported.

Every visit is more than time spent together. It is an opportunity for connection, stability, and healing.

Last month, Kids’ Voice expanded Go Blue for Kids from a single event into a month-long community effort focused on awareness, advocacy, and showing up for children consistently.

From volunteer projects and community events to local business partnerships, fundraising efforts, and awareness campaigns, so many people helped make April meaningful.

Because of the incredible support from our community, we are grateful to share that we reached our $40,000 campaign goal! Thank you to every donor, volunteer, sponsor, partner, and advocate who helped make April possible.
