with Sierra Club Conservation Committee, Uplands Network, and the Winding Waters Group.

From 1pm to 4:45pm at the Monroe County Library, the day will feature music by the Buffalo Strings Band, keynote speakers Jeff Stant and author Steven Higgs, a panel discussion, and a screening of the Sierra Club Crown Jewels Documentary, followed by time for giving roadless rule testimonials.

After the event at the library, we will gather at Cascades Inn at 5:30pm for a Meet & Greet with IFA Executive Director Jason Flickner. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

TELL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE TO OPPOSE HB 1414

HB1414 caps the amount of trees over 100 years at 10% of our state forests and requires 10% of our state forests to be 20 years or younger.

Contact the House Natural Resources Committee and your House Representative and tell them:
“HB 1414 should NOT pass out of the House Natural Resources Committee or EVER be adopted into Indiana law. At a minimum, the mandate requiring 10% of the State Forests be maintained under 20 years of age must be removed from the legislation. Rather than create a mandate to log our State Forests, the DOF should be required to set aside a significant amount of the State Forests from logging activities, and allow at least 10% of our State Forests to return to old growth conditions.”

Who to contact:
Committee Chair Rep. Shane Lindauer at [email protected] or 317-232-9717 Committee Vice Chair Re. David Abbott at [email protected] or 317-232-9762.
Find your Rep at https://iga.in.gov/information/find-legislators?emci=53ba9326-1cf3-f011-8d4c-000d3a54b560&emdi=f581279f-2af3-f011-8d4c-000d3a54b560&ceid=1776893.

To our Members--

THANK YOU!!! Because of the support and generosity of so many people, IFA was able to meet the challenge of unlocking a $15,000 matching grant from the anonymous donor group, which contributed greatly to the success of the End of Year Campaign.

Over the past few weeks, we shared the areas where we have made a positive impact on the protection of our urban and state forests. In addition, we related our vision to protect and expand the Deam Wilderness area in the Hoosier National Forest. All of this important work is made possible through the support of our members.

This year, IFA will mark our 30th Anniversary. Building on our foundation, we look to expand our programs, influence, and notoriety statewide— as the leading voice advocating for Indiana’s public lands from the State House to every Hoosier household.

We thank you for helping us get to where we are and we hope you will continue this important journey with us through your ongoing support. Stay updated on our efforts through the Forest Flash e-newsletter and on our social media channels.

For the Forests!

Gratefully yours,

Jason Flickner
Executive Director
Indiana Forest Alliance

Your support is greatly appreciated!

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
