Help us save the Combs Road Wetland!

🚨 Wondering how you can help save the wetland? Because the meeting was continued, we can now send in even more letters of opposition. Letters can now be sent in until October 23rd, 2026.

📨 Send your letter of opposition to City Planner Kathleen Blackham at [email protected] or contact City-County Councilor Brian Mowery at [email protected] to express your opposition.

📅 Plan to attend the public meeting October 29th at 1pm at the City-County Building in downtown Indianapolis. The meeting will be located in the public hearing room on the second floor. Even if you do not plan to speak, your presence matters!

URGENT NOTICE:

Indiana Forest Alliance has identified an unauthorized phishing email that was sent today from [email protected]

The fraudulent message has the subject:

“See the attached proposal”

It contains a PDF attachment titled “Proposal for Indiana Forest Alliance.pdf” and directs recipients to an external “secure portal.”

Please do not click the link in the PDF. Delete the message and attachment.

If you already opened the PDF but did not click the link or enter any information, no further action is likely necessary.

If you clicked the link but did not enter a password or approve a login request, close the page and do not return to it.

If you entered a Google, Microsoft, email, or other password, or approved an authentication request after clicking the link, please change that password immediately and contact your organization’s IT administrator if applicable.

IFA has secured and suspended the affected account while we investigate the incident.

We apologize for the fraudulent message and appreciate your caution.

Read Forests for Indy Director Jonathan Munro's piece about the economic and health benefits of urban forests and wetlands. Acquiring urban forests is vital for saving money on flood-mitigating infrastructure and for the health of Indianapolis residents.

We can’t change the past, but we can refuse to repeat our mistakes. We should undertake now to buy remaining urban forests and suitable natural lands from willing sellers to reduce the scope of the next DigIndy.
