The Power of Partnership in Action!

Yesterday, we welcomed a new group of organizations to the Career Gear Houston family during our monthly Membership Orientation.

Every month, we have the opportunity to connect with community partners who are passionate about helping Houstonians find meaningful employment and build brighter futures. Together, we create a powerful network of support that helps individuals move from job seeking to job success.

During orientation, our newest members:

- Learn about Career Gear Houston’s programs and services
- Meet our amazing staff
- Tour our facility
- Discover how to connect their clients to our workforce development resources

Once orientation is complete, our partners are ready to begin referring clients and collaborating with us to provide career readiness services, professional attire, workforce training, employment support, and career sustainability resources.

This partnership model continues to prove successful year after year because when organizations work together, our clients win.

Today was a powerful reminder that when community and corporate partners come together, lives are impacted forever.

A huge THANK YOU to Reliant Energy ® for spending the day with us at Career Gear Houston and investing your time, energy, and heart into the men we serve. From coaching clients and sharing career insight, to preparing professional attire so our clients can confidently attend interviews and career fairs — your impact was felt in every corner of our organization.

Special thanks to the volunteers who worked directly with our clients today, helping them look and feel their very best as they prepare for new opportunities and brighter futures. Confidence starts the moment someone feels seen, valued, and prepared — and you helped make that happen.

Our volunteers also had the opportunity to participate in one of our favorite traditions, Pockets of Purpose — leaving handwritten notes of encouragement in the pockets of every suit they worked on today. Those small words of hope and motivation will travel far beyond our doors.

We were also honored to have three of our board members stop by to welcome and engage with the team, highlighting the collective commitment behind this mission.

Thank you, Reliant, for your continued partnership, your servant leadership, and for always showing up for our community. Together, we are changing lives — one opportunity, one conversation, and one suit at a time.
