We’re grateful to share the success of our Childcare Providers’ Training, in partnership with EHCEC - East Harris County Empowerment Council at !

With 6 directors and 12 teachers, we deepened our understanding of child development milestones, inclusive practices, and holistic growth across cognitive, social-emotional, language, and physical domains. A highlight was the interactive gallery walk of inclusive learning environments, offering practical ideas for creating classrooms where every child can thrive.

Your participation as Houston policymakers didn’t just add meaning to the conversation. It transformed it.

This , let’s make a real resolution:

Stop showing children miniatures and models of nature behind four walls.

🌱 Start giving them the real thing.

Let them dig their hands into soil. Let them chase a butterfly. Let them sit under a real tree and watch the clouds move.

Because a child who only knows nature through plastic replicas will never grow up to fight for the real planet.

This World Environment Day, step outside. Take a child with you.

That’s how we raise a generation that truly belongs to the Earth. 🌍💚

Assessing the impact of our initiative's Child Care Providers Trainings.

Last week, we kicked off our first Focus Group Discussion with the EHCEC - East Harris County Empowerment Council community, 1 of 5 sessions this June.

Caregivers shared how they're using low-cost learning materials, showed home learning corners, discussed daily routines and stress management, and reflected on developmental milestones (birth–age 3) through a drawing activity.

We closed with a raffle as a small thank you.

Real impact isn't just numbers. It's caregivers growing together.

More insights coming from the next 4 FGDs.
